After 3 years of study, and graduating from Bachelor of Applied Science (Leisure and Health), Jane felt that she needed to narrow down her field to find more prospects. This led her to study first the Diploma of Remedial Massage at the Nature Care College, and then the Diploma of Holistic Kinesiology with the College of Complementary Medicine.

With Remedial Massage, Jane specialises in using Trigger points to help a person’s muscle to relax, and therefore relax the individual. Trigger points are tight knots that develop on your muscles when they have been overworked or stressed for whatever reason. By holding these points at the right pressure and for the right length of time, your muscle is allowed to release that tension build up. It has been effective in helping people sleep easier, as well as significantly reducing pain and frequency of their headaches if not stop them from coming back completely through maintenance and prevention.

Jane studied Holistic Kinesiology as a way to lengthen the time span she could work in the field. It’s less strenuous on the practitioner yet still very effective. By identifying the pattern that the client is living in, Kinesiology can help the client step out of it and move forward in their lives. Jane believes that our emotions and thoughts affect us physically, and vice versa. Keeping this in mind, by balancing all our states holistically with Kinesiology, this will facilitate for a person to be able to help themselves heal.

Holistic Kinesiology can be effective with:

  • Improving sleep
  • Reducing stress
  • Overcoming food addictions
  • and many more.

After completing her Diploma of Holistic Kinesiology in early 2009, the first clinic Jane worked in practising both Remedial Massage and Kinesiology was the Ryde Natural Health Clinic (RNHC) in North Ryde. Then, feeling she needed a change of scenery, she moved not far away to a clinic in West Ryde: MyPhysio West Ryde.

Jane Chua Remedial Massage and Kinesiology in West Ryde, Sydney, NSW categorized under Kinesiology, Massage Specialising in Remedial Massage, Pregnancy Massage.

Services

Remedial Massage looks at what the client is presenting, and aims to alleviate the pain, discomfort or stress that the person is experiencing. By using a blend of different massage techniques, a Remedial Massage Therapist is able to effectively help a person maintain a feeling of well-being. Trigger point Therapy, Myofacial Release, Sports Massage, and Lymphatic Drainage are just some of the techniques that Jane has trained in.

Each person is treated as an individual, and will therefore experience a different massage from the next person depending on which area(s) is the source of discomfort. Feel secure in the fact that your getting the proper treatment for your body, not a standard massage that everyone gets. In the same line, some people may feel sore the day after a massage and then feel better, but others will just feel great straight away, but in each case, there has been a change.

It is important that once you are feeling better from the initial problem to get a regular massage once a month or once every 6 weeks. This will ensure that your muscles will be more relaxed, as well as allow you to keep your pain and discomfort at bay, and even manage your stress more easily. It is better to prevent the pain from recurring than to treat the symptoms, think of it as an investment into your health.

Common ailments that Remedial Massage can benefit include:
* tension headaches and migraines
* muscle pain, tension and/or discomfort
* stress
* and sleep problems,
just to name a few.

Pregnancy Massage is also available if required. Many pregnant women experience a lot of pain and discomfort in their lower back, glutes, legs and shoulders, especially as the pregnancy progresses. The general consensus is that care should be taken in the first trimester, but it is safe to get a massage from a trained Massage Therapist. If you have any concerns about getting a pregnancy massage, please consult your Doctor before hand.

Remedial Massage can also be used in conjunction with other modalities, like Physiotherapy, Chiropractic Therapy, Osteopathy, Acupuncture etc,  quite effectively to help the person get better. These modalities complement each other very well. If you have any reservations feel free to discuss it with your current practitioner, or you can call Jane with your query

You also get to choose from 7 different Badger Balms to be used during your massage, if you like them and would like to purchase one for yourself or your friend, we do have them in stock too. For more information about Badger Balm have a look at their website: http://www.badgerbalm.com/

Testimonials

“Jane is simply magic. I’ve been seeing Jane for over a year now, and without her I simply wouldn’t be able to function. Prior to seeing Jane, I had years of constant pain in my neck, shoulders, back and arms, and would regularly lose feeling in my hands and forearms. I can now go 6 weeks without pain, which is simply amazing for me. I float out of her clinic after every visit. “– K. Waddell
