Kathleen Dent Massage

Specialising in Remedial Massage, including dry needling, fertility and pregnancy massage; Kathleen, known affectionately as Kat, has always had an interest in massage. As a very active child she learnt first hand the benefits of regular treatments to maintain your body and remain pain free.
After having a family, Kat decided to pursue her dream and has since completed several accredited courses with some of the most highly regarded institutes in their fields including Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy, Pregnancy Massage Australia, CPD Health Courses & Fertility Massage Training with a specialist from the UK.

Kat has also worked as the massage therapist for the North Central Region State Netball Teams at the State Netball Titles held in Melbourne in 2012 and 2013.

More recently Kat has also started working with equestrians of all disciplines. She has a real passion for helping horse riders maintain a healthy posture and remain pain free. This interest has also led to a collaboration between Kat and her good friend and well regarded Equine Myofunctional Therapist, Melissa Lont, with whom she is working closely.

Remedial Massage

may include dry needling & cupping
Remedial massage is great for addressing pain & injury, sore & tired muscles and stress & anxiety. It is a massage style that can be adapted to your own personal requirements using various techniques and depth of pressure.

Dry needling is the treatment of muscle pain using acupuncture needles. Dry needling works by relaxing muscle fibres, reducing pain & restoring normal function. It has wide ranging effects including improving joint mobility, restoring muscle strength, reducing muscle pain & even reducing inflamed soft tissues following acute injuries.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage aims to be a positive and nurturing experience whilst addressing the aches and pains often associated with pregnancy and your ever changing body such as back pain, pelvic pain, leg cramps, sciatica and sore & swollen feet & ankles. Pregnancy massage with a qualified therapist is safe at any stage of pregnancy as long as there are no contraindications.

Fertility/Digestive Massage

Fertility massage is a unique style of massage that is non-invasive and aims to bring the internal organs of the abdomen back into alignment. The focus is on the lower back, the digestive and reproductive systems. Fertility massage is aimed at women having fertility issues but also for those that suffer the painful affects of conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, painful or irregular periods, constipation and IBS.
