We use medical grade lasers to lighten/remove your unwanted tattoos as well as a Zimmer cooling machine to aid in any discomfort experienced.

About Light Speed Laser

Light Speed Laser Tattoo removal is owned and operated by Katie Reidy.

Katie has been in love with body art since her growing years in California.

The iconic Berkeley tattoo and piercing shops did her first works and since then she has had many artists add to her ink.

She has been getting tattooed for almost 10 years now and has had experience in the tattoo industry.

As a heavily tattooed lady herself, she loves tattoos and knows that sometimes people want to make room for something new or would just like to make a change

. Katie has had tattoos removed herself and fully understands what her clients are experiencing.

Her aim is to provide medical grade equipment and procedures to lighten or remove tattoos in a comfortable tattoo shop environment.

Hence, Light Speed Laser, a tattoo lightening and removal business was established to give the quality and certainty offered by medical practitioners in a comfortable and familiar, non-judgemental tattoo shop environment.

Light Speed Laser aims to help people get rid of their unwanted tattoos or to open up the options they have for new cover up designs.

Katie understands that people have an emotional as well as aesthetic connection to their body art and aims to help them update or remove the desired pieces, big or small, in a relaxed setting.

Katie has trained with the Sydney College of Skin Care and The Fleming Institute.

She removes and lightens tattoos using a Medlite C6 laser, which is considered the gold standard in the laser tattoo removal industry.

She also uses a Zimmer cooling machine to aid in the relief of discomfort.

Medlite C6 Laser

Light Speed Laser use the Medlite C6 Q-switched Nd: YAG laser to remove or lighten tattoo ink.
Ability to treat all colours
The Medlite C6 with the addition of high repetition Multilite Dye Handpieces offers 4 wavelength capabilities to effectively treat the entire colour spectrum.

No epidermal injury.

The laser beam produced by the Medlite C6 has a flat beam profile. This ensures an even distribution of energy at the treatment site without spikes or hot spots that can cause damage to the epidermis.

No damage to surrounding tissue.

Tattoo ink is treated by shattering the ink molecules with PhotoAcoustic technology and allowing the body’s immune system to remove the particles. The Medlite C6 uses Q-switched technology which stores energy then releases brief high powered pulses to target the molecules or chromophores. The Medlite C6 forces energy at such a high rate the chromophores shatter without harming the surrounding skin.

Zimmer Cryo Cooling Machine

During the process of shattering the ink molecules with the Medlite C6 Laser, heat is released by the molecules into the skin as part of the healing response. Light Speed Laser use a Zimmer Cryo cooling machine to pre cool the treatment site and maintain this during the treatment.

Pain Reduction
Cooling the skin has a numbing effect and greatly reduces any discomfort from the laser.

Minimal Side Effects
The Zimmer cooling process rapidly dissipates the heat generated in the skin during laser treatment and significantly avoids redness and blistering. The cooling numbs the superficial nerve endings improving patient comfort.
