Livewell Physiotherapy is a full time practice, located in Sydney’s CBD

The Livewell Physiotherapy practice was established in 2009 with a simple goal – help people return to doing what they love most. Livewell’s Principal Physiotherapist, Ms Pauline Chien, comes from a background in gymnastics, and her interest in human movement, functional memory and neural networking combined with extensive training in scientifically proven physical rehabilitation therapies has shaped Livewell’s approach towards treatment of musculoskeletal problems. We help you maximise the healing process and strengthen prevention.

Livewell Physiotherapy offers comprehensive treatments, from manual therapies, tailored stretch and strengthening programs, balance and stability programs, functional re-education programs, soft tissue massage, dry needling, brace and support fittings, mobility aid fittings, ergonomic assessments and advice, practical lifestyle advice, to basic nutrition. We want to help empower you to achieve your health goals.

PAULINE CHIEN

PAULA CARLETON

Principal Physiotherapist, APAM

Pauline graduated from The University of Sydney in 2003 and completed her intern year at Prince of Wales Hospital. She provided specialised rehabilitation in the Orthopaedic Department at Prince of Wales Private Hospital for the following two years, and since then, Pauline has been in private practice, establishing the Livewell Physiotherapy practice in the heart of Sydney’s CBD in 2009.

Pauline has extensive experience in the treatment of complex musculoskeletal and neurological problems including strong skills in manual therapy, rehabilitation, core, stability, and functional re-training, dry needling and western acupuncture. Coming from a background in gymnastics, Pauline understands the importance of posture, alignment, and functional memory.

You will benefit from Pauline’s expertise, holistic approach and passion for your wellbeing, driven by her physiotherapy mantra – helping people return to doing what they love most.

Physiotherapist, APAM

Paula graduated from The University of Keele, Staffordshire, England in 2009. Since graduating she has worked in private physiotherapy practice in Ireland, where she treated a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions from acute and chronic neck and back pain, joint instabilities, repetitive strain injuries, to tendinopathies.

Paula has worked with an array of sports teams managing acute injuries through to post-operative rehabilitation that frequently included upper and lower limb joint sprains, muscle strains, and fractures. Paula has strong skills in manual therapy and rehabilitation, and is also a qualified Swedish massage therapists and Nutritionist.

You will gain from Paula’s commitment to achieving optimal health outcomes, guided by her physiotherapy maxim of – helping people reach their goals.

Services

Acute, Chronic & Recurring Pain

Recurring headaches, both tension and migraine. Neck and shoulder pain. Mid-back and lower back pain, including discogenic and facet joint pain. Chronic pain caused by historic injuries and or major accidents.

Post-op Rehabilitation & Injury Recovery

Post-operative general surgery and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Sports injuries such as joint pain, sprains, and instability. Muscle strains and tears. Whiplash and soft tissue injuries. Injuries sustained from extended activity.

Complex Musculoskeletal

Neuropathies such as nerve tension or damage (causing weakness, numbness, pins and needles, burning, or travelling pain). Tendinopathies such as tendonitis or tendinosis. Arthritis, degenerative change, and other joint inflammatory conditions.

Repetitive Strain (RSI) & Ergonomic Issues

Posture correction and core weakness, functional movement retraining, overuse and repetitive strain injuries (RSI). Occupational health injuries including ergonomic induced pain. Stress, tension, stiffness, tightness and more!
