Lotus Pod opened its first not-for-profit fashion boutique in December 2004 in Sydney’s Darlinghurst. It instantly struck a chord with the locals and word spread quickly. Initially the fashion was sourced locally but as we gained a better understanding of our customers needs we started our own label Alice Underground in 2006.

Alice Underground was created to fill a perceived gap in the fashion market, combining the price point of affordable “commercial” fashion with the flair and exclusivity that is usually reserved for high end designer labels. We always endeavour to find fresh twists and new shapes that are flattering, feminine and directional.

Getting to know our customers through the years has really shaped the overall direction of our stores. We are continuously sourcing the best of what is available both locally and abroad. Our dedication to offering the best overflows to our striking selection of jewellery and quirky gifts. Our stores are in a constant state of metamorphosis as we have new stock arriving on a daily basis.

As a charity, Lotus Pod is dedicated to creating a more harmonious and compassionate world. We sponsor worldwide philanthropic and welfare activities including food relief, education, self-sufficiency and the spiritual upliftment of humanity.

One of the many projects we support is the inspirational charity Food For Life Vrindavan. FFLV is a humanitarian aid organisation working with some of the poorest villages in Vrindavan, India. “Hi there. I’ve just been told that your xmas exchange period was only until Dec 30th! That’s 3 days excluding public holidays. Can you please tell me how that is a reasonable exchange time when you’re usual exhange period is probably 2 weeks?! Ripped off.

Just returned a skirt that didn’t fit and was told I could not get a refund. Only an exchange or a credit note that will expire in 6 months. When I questioned whether this was legal, I was assured it was. That you checked with the Department of Fair Trading every couple of months. Well so did I. And I am correct, you are wrong.
