Our massage therapists at Massage by Fern are fully qualified Thai Masseuse trained in Traditional Thai massage treatments at the Wot PO traditional Medical school in Bangkok, Thailand. With many years experience in the use of traditional Thai massage treatments our therapists know how to manipulate the muscles to give a positive effect and overall sense of well being to the body.
In our private treatment rooms we provide a serene place to unwind and relax. Unlike our completion all rooms are all separately temperature controlled and themed for customer comfort, we do not use curtains as dividers to separate small cubicles. All massage services are provided on professional massage tables for your comfort. Our rooms are appointed with the best in comfort so you can relax and feel renewed and rejuvenated following one of our treatments.

Our Traditional Thai massage Therapists use thumbs, forearms, elbows and palms in a combination of techniques of touch and pressure on the body to relax and release general discomfort. Your body is worked from the front to back and head to toe or we can manipulate pressure onto certain points of the body to relieve tension and the build up of toxins and waste materials from the tissues.

Thai massage

Known in Thailand as Nuat phaen boran, meaning “ancient/traditional massage”, Traditional Thai massage is generally based on a combination of Indian and Chinese traditions of medicine.

Thai massage – or Nuat Thai – is unique among massage therapies in combining both physical and energetic aspects. It is a deep, full-body massage progressing from the feet up, and focusing on zen or energy lines throughout the body, with the aim of clearing blockages in these lines, and thus stimulating the flow of blood and lymph throughout the body. By the end, one feels both relaxed and energized, in an almost dreamlike state, and typically without pain.

Foot massage

While various types of reflexology related massage styles focus on the feet, massage of (usually) the soles of the feet is often performed purely for relaxation or recreation.

Thai Foot Massage is the therapeutic massage of particular areas of the soles of the feet, and to a lesser extent the lower legs. The aim is to stimulate reflex points or lines – “zen” in Thai – that correspond to other parts of the body: to the internal organs, the glands, and the senses. The overall goal is to improve blood and lymph circulation, and to stimulate and improve the workings of the body’s internal organs.

Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue, also known as compressive deep tissue, or sports massage, is a blend of Eastern techniques, such as Shiatsu massage, coupled with a Western manual medicine, encompassing deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, transverse friction, compression, tension , stretching, as well as parasympathetic response.

Remedial Massage

Our specialty, Remedial Massage, involves the manipulation of body muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments to relieve pain and injury. When muscles and tendons become damaged or impaired, knotted and tense or immobile, Remedial Massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or superficial. Remedial massage holistically treats the body healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms. Remedial Massage is an excellent therapy for muscular tension or injury from from stress, poor posture or any prolonged or repetitive activity including breast feeding and over-work.

Relaxation massage

This beautiful, smooth, flowing full body massage is an excellent treatment for stress and exhaustion or for a luxurious treat. A Swedish massage at massage by the sea will induce a state of deep relaxation and a heightened sense of well-being. Other benefits include release of muscle tension and increased circulation.

Aromatherapy Massage

The combination or East and West, emphasis on the aroma scents that rejuvenate and relax the muscles also lift one’s mood. The treatment applied by the palms and thumbs to acupressure points and kneading to the tensed muscle with elbows. In winter your therapist will introduce warm scented oils for a better relaxation experience.
