Inspired by the relaxing holiday atmosphere of Sydney`s outdoor pools, Massage by the sea was launched in 1998. A massage on the decks of Wylie`s Baths is still a much-loved local tradition in Coogee. Massage by the sea is Sydney`s oldest outdoor resort-style massage therapy centre. Today happy customers also enjoy the benefits of massage indoors in our beautiful rooms at our Clovelly Indoor Centre.

All practitioners at Massage by the Sea are fully qualified Remedial Massage Therapists holding a Diploma of Remedial Massage (DRM). Our massage therapists are all registered with The Australian Traditional Medicine Society (Shareen McLeish ATMS 9288) or other accredited natural health associations and are registered providers with the applicable private health funds. We are able to provide treatments that are both relaxing AND effective in relieving pain and discomfort. In addition, many of us have qualifications in sports and fitness, nutrition, beauty therapy and other massage modalities including reflexology, aromatherapy and lymphatic drainage

A remedial massage therapist, Cuba is also trained in physiotherapy in Poland. With over 15 years of experience he uses a broad range of techniques. Our clients love him! You can find Cuba doing outdoors treatments at Wylie’s Baths during the week as well as at our indoors Clovelly centre. His style is remedial and therapeutic and he also gives a great relaxing, hot stone or pregnancy massage. He is our trainer for hot stone massage at MBTS.

Jason

Diploma of remedial Massage

Jason’s therapy combines Chinese Chi (energy) theory with Tui Na, acupressure theory and Western remedies. His modalities include remedial massage incorporating deep tissue, sports massage, acupressure and trigger point techniques. He also does Swedish massage, reflexology and pregnancy massage (being a new Dad, he has had plenty of practice!).

Jen works very intuitively and uses a mix of various techniques to specifically tailor her massages to individual client needs. The types of massage Jen provides include remedial, deep tissue, therapeutic/relaxation, trigger point release, pre and post natal (pregnancy) massages, hot stone massage and our massage/facial packages. Jen also offers paediatric massage (both infant and children) and teaches a course specifically designed for parents and carers of young children to learn how to safely and confidently massage their own children. Jen is also trained in oncology massage. This is a specialised modification of massage techniques specifically tailored for people living with cancer. Aside from all her experience and education in bodywork therapies, clients appreciate Blaise for her caring nature and concern for their wellbeing. It’s little surprise given Blaise’s lifelong connection to bodywork, which began with receiving and observing chiropractic, massage and naturopathic treatment throughout her childhood in California. Upon moving to Sydney in 2006, Blaise set about turning her passion into her career, gaining a Diploma of Integrated Body Therapies, a Diploma of Remedial Massage and a Certificate IV in Aromatherapy. Over the past decade she has focused her studies on myofascial release with a keen interest in making deep and lasting structural pattern change in her clients. She is currently completing her certification in Structural Balancing using Kinesis Myofascial Integration technique. Her favourite modalities include pregnancy, deep tissue and remedial massage, as well as aromatherapy and myofascial cupping. Blaise’s style has a relaxing flow and incorporates deeper remedial work and trigger point therapy, mixed with a myofascial influence. She loves her job and feels privileged to be able to help others heal.

Prior to becoming a Massage Therapist, Andrew worked as a Screen Writer and spent 20 years hunched over a computer. The legacy of his writing career was bad posture, a sore back, a stiff neck and headaches. As a result, Andrew is particularly interested in the treatment of these areas and problems.
