ABOUT

Roslyn Mallitt graduated with a Diploma of Health Science (Massage Therapy) in 1996.

Over the years, she has continued her education and knowledge through reading and attending numerous courses, workshops and conferences on movement, fascia, current research and ergonomics, to name a few.

Roslyn’s knowledge has also been learnt through first-hand experience of injuries sustained on and off the sporting field!

Working at Oyster Bay Massage Therapy Clinic and Barden Ridge Natural Therapies Clinic, she has spent the last 20 years treating and helping people throughout the Sutherland Shire, Bankstown and St George areas help manage their pain and injuries.

She believes massage and exercise is medicine, and has an interest in assessing clients’ physical movement limitations and helping to improve their strength, flexibility and mobility to reduce pain. She is also a Stretch Therapist, completing a certification with Kit Laughlin in 2011, and Active Isolated Stretching/Strengthening with Dr Ben Benjamin in 2013.

In January 2014, Roslyn completed a Fascial Fitness course with Robert Schleip & Divo Mueller, two of the world’s leading experts on fascia.

Roslyn works closely with, and refers to, other healthcare providers when necessary to maximise improvements in clients’ health.

Massage & Movement incorporates posture, flexibility and movement training with Remedial Massage treatment to improve your neuromuscular and fascial fitness. Helping you overcome pain and injury from work, sport, and everyday living.

REFLEXOLOGY

Massage & Movement is privileged to have Gay Wickens working out of our treatment room on Mondays and Thursdays.

Gay is a Reflexologist, Oncology Massage Therapist, Reiki Master/Teacher and Remedial Massage Therapist.

Reflexology is based on the principle that certain parts of the body are reflected in the hands, feet and ears. Stimulation of these points can help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium by encouraging the body to work naturally to restore it’s own healthy balance. When practiced in conjunction with sound medical advice, reflexology can facilitate healing.

Reflexology is suitable for all ages.

Children, pregnant women, the aged and the terminally ill will derive benefits. Regular treatments are beneficial in order to maintain health and well-being, relaxing the mind and body, helping us to cope on a physical, mental and emotional level.

Cranio-Sacral Reflexology is a technique of reflexology performed on the feet using the reflexes of the cranium, sacrum, spine and all tissues associated with that system.

Conditions commonly treated include:  Stress related illness, fibromyalgia, shoulder problems, neck problems, hip problems, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, digestive disorders, headaches, asthma, sinusitis, vertigo.

During a treatment your feet will be pampered with a foot bath, massaged, stretched, pressure points relating to body parts stimulated and you will experience a general feeling of well-being and relaxation.

Reiki is a non-invasive and non-manipulative treatment promoting balance in the mind, body and spirit.

Oncology Massage is the modification of massage techniques in order to safely work with the effects of cancer and cancer treatments.

Gay works with clients holistically via mind, body and spirit. She has a particular passion for applying her work to support clients living with cancer, endeavouring to ease some discomfort and anxiety they may be experiencing in their lives.

Gay completed her Certificate IV Massage in 2006 and Certificate IV Reflexology in 2007. In 2011 she developed her professional skills by completing a course in Oncology Massage endorsed by the Petrea King Quest For Life Foundation. She has also worked regularly as a volunteer therapist at the Jacaranda Lodge Cancer Support Centre.

Gay is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
