I am a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist and studied at the Q Academy* in Bundall. I started Massage on Chevron in September 2012 and now have a regular clientelle of island locals and others who travel from all over the coast.

My studio is fully renovated and offers a haven from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. I believe your comfort is paramount at all times and have gone to lengths to ensure you have a pleasant experience. You can relax in air-conditioned comfort on a state of the art massage table. Quality oils are used and shower facilities are available.

Facts about Chevron Island

Chevron Island is a small island suburb that has its own unique identity and village atmosphere. Located on the Nerang River between Surfers Paradise and Bundall the island has a vibrant café culture and a relaxed feel.

Residents enjoy the relative quiet of the island whilst also being able to walk to the beach and also engage in the bussle of the tourist areas. when the mood takes them. More and more tourists are now crossing the bridge and discovering the great shopping, easy parking and friendly locals.

We also have a fantastic selection of resort accomodation, cafes, bars and nightspots where tourists and local mingle. Fancy a bit of fishing? There is a comfortable, shaded platform on the western side of the island where you can try your luck catching bream, whiting and flathead.

Swedish Relaxation Massage 

In the early 19th century, a swede named Per Hendrik Ling developed a method of massage and gymnastics known as Swedish Massage.This is one of the most common massage techniques used and includes:

– long smooth strokes
– kneading and circular movements
– gentle manipulation of muscles

The full body is included with specific strokes to the back, buttocks, back and front of thighs and legs, abdomen, arms, shoulders, neck and head.

You may wish me to concentrate on specific areas of your body, for example, shoulders and neck, and this will be discussed with you prior to your massage commencing.

Remedial Massage 

Remedial Massage Therapy involves the assessment and treatment of soft tissue dysfunctions that can cause pain and discomfort and restrict your range of movement.There are two components to a Remedial Massage treatment.

1. Assessment :Your therapist begins with an investigation into the causes of your discomfort with questioning followed by a postural and Musculo-Skeletal Assessment.

2. Treatment: Based on the assessment, the Remedial Massage Therapist develops a ‘working diagnosis’ and prepares and completes your personalised treatment plan. Your treatment may consist of a range of techniques that will best improve your range of movement, and achieve the results that you and your Remedial Massage Therapist are aiming to achieve.
