“I went there quite a few years ago for waxing mainly and the lady’s mum (who aparently had been a beautician all her life including in Greece) sugested I needed facials and skin treatments because I had a few breakouts, so I agreed as the thought of been “pampered” appealed to me.
She gradually began to use this metal tool which hurt like hell and would bleed in order to “clean” out the pimples and of course I would come out looking worse but I was so gullable as they would promise it woul’nt scar and although the texture of my skin improved it was pretty useless with all that horrible scarring.
My skin had never looked worse I told the mum that it was starting to look like it would and she said “you been picking your pimples” which was an absolute lie. I had picked pimples as a teenager only and had never scarred like that. I also asked Melita and she also promised it wouldn’t scar. I actually believed them which is why I let years and years go by, waiting for the scarring to fade and here I am about 12 years later and haven’t gone anywhere without powder and foundation on my face cos of the scarring, something I never used to have to do, yes I would break out once in a while but so what,
everyone knows what a pimple is and it goes away but this is just unethical, no one should look worse from trips to the beauty salon.
I admit I was a coward for not having stopped after the 1rst treatment and asked for my money back. I guess I was beyond naive and believed all the lies the mum spun such as them having clients from qld coming to them cos they were so good, her daughter having her own make up brand soon to be released, I still have not seing it in any department store to this day as claimed.
I rang her last year wanting to talk about my experience, very politely but she went psycho and on the defensive straight away and like her mum, acussed me of having picked my face, hence the scarring (how dare she!, did she witness it?!)..interestingly they no longer use those prehistoric tools she says (of course she didn’t call them that!) , she then hung up on me and was yelling at me.
(I’m guessing she’s never heard customer’s always right)
I would’ve expecetd her to be humble and that she would’ve invited me in to assess my skin or something and see if she could sugest something but then again I would’nt want them to touch me with a ten foot pole, it would’ve been good if she at least took responsibility for their broken promise because unlike they said, I did scar, but of course that would’ve taken a very big person. I know I obviously did’nt have the personality/ character to confront this a long time ago but I’ve had a lot of anger issues and realised that this incident was 1 of them that I neede to confront, so here I am. By the way I have spoken to several beauticians in all that time, told them about this and they’ve all told me that IS NOT the way they would’ve treated my breakout issues at all..I would just be happy to get my money back at this point but in my foolishness did not keep receipts, of course they would probably also say they have no records..”
