Chiropractic is ideally applied in the treatment of acute and chronic back and neck pain, as well as peripheral limb joint and muscle problems.
Treatment at Mosman Chiropractic and Massage can involve the traditional manipulation-style of chiropractic care if desired and appropriate. However, our chiropractic clinic also places a special emphasis on gentle, low force, ‘non-cracking’ chiropractic techniques for people who are apprehensive about joint manipulation. We use a rare integration of remedial massage techniques along with stretching of tight muscles and gentle mobilisation of restricted joints.
Chiropractors have a 5-year university degree, with training based on solid foundations in science and the latest medical concepts, as well as a large range of safe and effective techniques for treating everything from neck and lower-back pain to sport and occupational injuries. We are also trained to advise on appropriate exercise programmes, diet and lifestyle.
An initial chiropractic consultation involves a very thorough history and physical examination, followed by an explanation of your issues and a plan of how to go about resolving them. Your chiropractic treatment is tailored to your specific needs and goals, at a level that you feel fully comfortable with.

Andrew Shepherd (BSC Chiro Sc, M Chiropractic)

Andrew Shepherd is a fully qualified and accredited Chiropractor and expert remedial Massage Therapist who works collaboratively with local GPs and other allied health care professionals to ensure that clients receive the best and most appropriate care available. With a view to providing the highest quality of chiropractic care, Andrew established Mosman Chiropractic and Massage at the beginning of 2009. With over 19 years’ experience in the allied health industry, he has a firm belief in treating individuals as more than the sum of their parts and a keen interest in maintaining his clients’ health not only with chiropractic and massage therapy but also with dietary and lifestyle advice and rehabilitative exercises which can be performed by people of all ages.

Andrew is registered with the NSW Chiropractors’ Registration Board, the Australian Association of Massage Therapists and is a member of the Chiropractic & Osteopathic College of Australasia.

Amanda Schmidt (Dip Remedial Massage)

Amanda Schmidt is an expert Remedial Massage Therapist who works alongside Andrew and Belinda, providing top quality Remedial, Sports and Pregnancy Massage. At Mosman Chiropractic and Massage we believe that remedial massage is crucial to maintaining optimal health, and is highly complimentary to chiropractic care. Amanda’s massage is firm yet gentle and can be tailored to the individual needs and comfort of the client. She also utilises a special pregnancy massage cushion, enabling most pregnant women to lie on their front during treatment, even during the later stages of pregnancy.

Amanda is a member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists and her treatments may be claimed through private health insurers with the appropriate level of extras cover..
