Motions Mobile Remedial Massage is Melbourne’s premier mobile remedial and relaxation massage therapy service.  Whether you require a massage at home, the office, or in your hotel room, we can come to you.  Our professional and qualified massage therapists specialise in deep tissue, relaxation, remedial therapy, and sports massage.  A combination of these therapies is usually utilised depending on your needs to maximise the therapeutic benefits of massage.  Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, passive and active stretching as well as other techniques are used to leave you relaxed, revitalised and reinvigorated.

Your Massage Therapist

All therapists are members of AAMT or an equivalent natural therapy association and adhere to the code of practice and regulations set by each respective body.  It is also required that Motions Mobile Massage therapists take professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

As remedial therapists all Motions Mobile Massage staff have completed a certificate or diploma in Massage therapy and most are continuing on with higher education and training in their area of interest.

What to expect
1st consultation

You can expect to be greeted by a friendly, professional Motions Massage therapist who will be  attentive, intuitive and listen to your needs.

A health history form will need to be filled in and we may ask a few questions to gain a deeper understanding of presenting symptoms and any underlying conditions.  At this point, we can also discuss and establish your treatment goals.

Range of motion and orthopaedic tests may be carried out to establish a baseline which, can be retested again at the completion of the session.

If you are happy with the treatment plan presented and have given your consent, we can begin.

Throughout the treatment

Communication is important especially during remedial therapy.  From time to time your therapist will check to ensure the pressure being applied is within your limits.  Your feedback is essential to the therapeutic process.  Deep pressure may be useful in some instances and not in others.

Passive stretching may be utilised and some will require your participation to facilitate an increase in muscle length.  We will guide you through processes when needed.

After the treatment

Generally you should feel relaxed after a session.  However, there may be times where some areas will feel somewhat tender or sensitive post treatment depending on the techniques and depth of pressure applied.

Take your time getting up from the massage table and getting reacquainted with your body.  Now we can reassess your range of motion and pain.  Usually you will feel a difference in the way you are able to move your body.  At other times, several sessions may be necessary to reach your objective.

An interdisciplinary approach may be required to reach your objective at times and in these cases we may refer you to a allied health specialist.

What we do NOT do

As massage therapists we remain within our scope of practice and adhere to a strict code of practice.  Therefore, we do not and nor should any other remedial massage therapist perform the following:

• High velocity manipulations such as ones performed by osteopaths, physiotherapists or chiropractors.
• Diagnose
• Prescribe or advise on medication
