Movidas Journeys specialises in travel to Latin America – from Mexico, across to Cuba, through Central America and South America. We also cross the waters to Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, Easter Island and Tahiti. Keep watching for a few other little surprises. Movidas in colloquial Spanish means ‘moves’ or ‘movements’ as in dance or sport. It can also mean ‘in vogue’ or ‘chic’ or ‘a good connection’ – as in ‘I know someone who can get tickets to the sold out performance…’ It implies life and enjoyment, which is what we hope you will experience on one of our journeys – to vibrant cities, tropical jungles, wildlife havens or amazing landscapes. We have an extensive knowledge of Latin America and then some! It is our second home! We have also travelled beyond Latin America to the other destinations offered. We speak the language, having lived there. We tailor make journeys to fit your needs. Tours on the website are here for guidance – not set in stone. Latin America is a fantastic destination, but not a simple one to navigate, as there is so much to see. It does not have a major rail network like Europe so train travel is not the usual means of travel, more of a feature. Distances are vast, considering that Brazil itself is bigger than Australia, so it is not a place one would travel all around by bus. Flights are necessary within the continent. Often travellers book a special airfare online not realising that they could have included some of the internal flights for just a little more, or used an airpass. It is not really a \’book online\’ destination as one needs to know how to put things together in a way takes advantage of airfares and land/sea transportation to save on backtracking and costs in general.
