WHY ORGANIC COTTON?

Once blessed with the responsibility of nurturing a precious new life, it is natural that many new mothers start exploring the benefits of organic food, natural care products and organic baby clothes.

Your Baby’s Health

A baby is the most susceptible to its environment in its early years and a baby’s skin is more porous than our adult skin, meaning that they absorb toxins at a substantially higher rate than us. The chemicals used to grow and manufacture non-organic cotton can be absorbed by the body through the skin, and in the case of a baby’s tender skin, this can cause harm to baby’s health and safety through allergic reaction, rash, asthma, chemical sensitivities. Organic cotton is non allergenic and the ideal fabric for a baby’s sensitive skin as it is grown and processed without the use of harmful chemicals.

Comfort

Cotton is loved as one of the softest, most comfortable fabrics – but unfortunately, it’s also one of the most heavily chemically treated crops in the world. Those chemicals change the make-up of the cotton, penetrating the fibers that make the fabric so soft. Organic cotton clothing is cotton in its most natural form, using the raw fibers as they were intended by nature; this is why organic cotton clothing is so much softer than non-organic cotton.

Babies’ skin is especially absorbent and sensitive to chemicals – that’s why we use dye-free, chemical-free laundry detergent and skip fabric softeners. Organic cotton and other untreated materials, such as organic wool; linen; soy; and bamboo-based clothing, are essentially the same thing – fabric soft enough (and pesticide-free) to protect even the most sensitive, precious skin there is; that of our little ones.

Durability

Synthetic fabrics have a tendency to pill, emit static electricity, trap perspiration, and age quickly – these things happen as a result of unnatural fibers and the “ingredients” added to the natural fibers. In its natural form, cotton wears extremely well and is an amazingly breathable fabric; organic cotton protects these natural qualities, passing the benefits onto your loved ones when they wear organic cotton clothing. Organic cotton garments are strong because they’ve gone through significantly less processing than regular cotton garments. Organic clothing can typically be washed up to ten times more than clothing made from conventional cotton. So, while yes, they are generally more expensive, you’re also likely to get more mileage out of organic cotton clothing. If you’re a parent planning on having multiple children, then this investment will truly add up because you can save them to hand down to your next child. Not only are longer wearing garments better for your pocket, but since they’re kept longer they create less waste too.

The Green Choice

We generally regard cotton as a natural, harmless fibre. However, did you know that cotton is considered the world’s “dirtiest” crop? The cotton plant requires more pesticides and fertilizer than any other crop we grow. More than 25% of the world’s pesticides and 16% of the world’s insecticides get dumped on this one crop. Conventional cotton is grown and harvested through a chemically intensive process to control the plants development, ward off pests and prepare the crop for harvest. Once conventional cotton has been harvested, it is normally bleached, dyed and finished with another concoction of chemicals, many of which are known to be toxic and allergenic. Organic production methods replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic pesticides and fertilizers, and contribute to biologically diverse agriculture.

Australian Express Postage – $15.00

Orders over 3kg excluded – additional postage costs will apply

All orders received by 1 pm dispatched the same day.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES

Yes we deliver Internationally! We use Australia Post International Standard Shipping to send parcels to the rest of the world.

Shipping costs will automatically be calculated at the Checkout.

International Shipping Cost Flat Rates are based on orders that are 500 grams or less. Any orders over this size will incur additional Shipping costs.

All orders are dispatched within 5-7 business days and delivery times generally take 5-25 Days depending on your location and customs process.

We will contact you after placing your order if additional shipping costs apply.

Import taxes and duties related to international shipping are the responsibility of the consumer.

SHIPPING POLICIES
It is your obligation to enter the correct delivery address details at the time of ordering. Should you enter the wrong address, Organic Mums and Bubs is not obligated to re-send the order to the correct address at our expense. Should a parcel be returned to us undelivered, Organic Mums and Bubs will inform you of this and process a refund, deducting the shipping costs. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.

LOST OR DAMAGED GOODS
If you feel your order has been lost in transit, please contact us with your order number so that we can assist you. We will need to raise a full investigation with our couriers, this could take up to 2 weeks to process.

PLEASE NOTE: Delivery of items is subject to availability, and we cannot accept responsibility or liability for any item it is not able to supply. However, we will offer you a store credit for any item that is unexpectedly delayed.

Returns

We hope that you enjoy your purchase, however if you wish to return or exchange item/s from your order we will happily assist in providing you with a credit note, exchange or refund*.

*Please ensure your return meets the following conditions:

Returns must be received by Organic Mums and Bubs within 14 days of the date shown on the tax invoice.
Goods must be in their original condition with tags attached.
No refund for change of mind on sale items, exchange only.

PLEASE NOTE:

No exchanges or returns are offered for sale items.
Please note that your return postage will not be reimbursed, with the exception of faulty items.
Organic Mums and Bubs will send the replacement items to you free of charge.
It is the customers responsibility to select a postage option with tracking for your return as we can not take responsibility for parcels that do not arrive to us.
If the items requested in exchange are not available or further payment is required we will contact you.
We reserve the right to refuse a returned items if the items do not comply to our returns policy. Refused items will be posted back to you and additional postage will be charged. We accept no responsibility for returns that are sent by non-traceable postage methods and are not received. Unfortunately without the items we cannot issue an exchange or refund. We strongly suggest you send your returns using a traceable method.
