Reviews

“We have just returned from Lord Howe and our stay at Pinetrees. The island is magnificent . It is pristine and totally unspoilt. Almost all tourists hire bikes which is a wonderful way to navigate the island. Pine trees exceeded expectations. Its simplicity is part of its charm. The food was consistently the best I have ever experienced – imaginative, fresh and beautifully presented. The option of a packed lunch or a barbeque lunch is perfect for that environment. However the stay in lunches are also wonderful. Meals are eaten on the verandah unless the weather is bad. Their boathouse on the lagoon is a wonderfull place in the late afternoon to have a drink, mingle with other guests or watch the sunset. The staff were friendly and experienced in all areas. There were a number of families there with children who were well catered for .They all appeared to have a wonderful time. The whole island is child friendly, particularly those a little older who can take part in the bike riding, snorkelling etc. AND…. it is only an hour and a half”s flight from Brisbane!”

“First visited this precious island over 60 years ago and it is still the most beautiful holiday paradise and my favourite place in the World. Everyone should experience the unique Pinetrees Lodge at least once in their lifetime and the wonderful friendly atmosphere that generations of the Rourke Family have created for their guests who are treated like family. The food is to “die for” and the wonderful Boathouse Deck is just perfect for drinks at sunset. The new decor in the main house and the rooms was a lovely surprise and the boardwalks amongst the landscaped gardens with lighting was a joy to behold. Well done Dani and Luke and their great staff. This won’t be our last visit!”

“A friend and I stayed at Pinetrees in February and what a pleasure it was. I stayed several years ago and thought it was wonderful but this time was even better.
The quality of food, choice and presentation was superb, so fresh, with delicious combinations of flavours and textures. What a way to be spoilt!
The accommodation and original guest house have been tastefully renovated with fine attention to detail.
Their Boatshed is across a narrow road where you get drinks from the fridge, using an honour system. Sit and enjoy a view of the lagoon and mountains during the day or watch glorious sunsets before wandering back for a four course dinner!
Pinetrees retains a guesthouse atmosphere with relaxed friendliness between guests, enhanced by their friendly, efficient staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.
You can have a relaxed or active holiday, the choice is yours.
Both Lord Howe Island and Pinetrees are gems.

Stayed February 2017, travelled with friends”

“Returning to Pinetrees for a holiday is just like visiting old friends who happen to be the best cooks in the world. Lord Howe Island is really a paradise and Pinetrees is situated beautifully on the lagoon. The accommodation is great, the staff exceptional and as stated the food “to die for”. We will be returning for more.”

“Wonderful guesthouse and the most idyllic setting combine to create the best holiday imaginable. Service at Pinetrees is efficient, friendly and totally professional. Every detail is thought of with umbrellas, beach towels, daily weather forecasts and suggestions for the day s activities provided. Then there is the food… fabulous. Healthy set-you-up -for-the-day breakfasts, delicious lunches and gourmet dinners.”
