Plumbing Products We Use
Water Pipes
Plumbing by Tim uses the Pex Plumbing system. We use this for all our new plumbing pipes we install, depending on the situation.
The Pex Plumbing system is suitable for both hot and cold pipework. Its a plastic pipe with brass fittings. We also use copper for our water pipes, depending on the need of the customer.
We use other plastic pipework which is on the market but once again this depends on your situation.
Gas Pipework
Plumbing By Tim uses a product called Rehau for our gas installations.
Plumbing By Tim is licenced to install Rehau gas & water pipework.
We also use copper and gal for gas lines depending on the customers needs.
As mentioned before Rehau is a plastic pipe which is coated yellow to identify it as a gas pipe.
The tees and fittings are also brass. Plumbing By Tim is licensed to install Rehau gas, as per the manufacturers requirements for their product.
Services
We cover all general areas in Plumbing. Below are a couple of categories we want to highlight with new rules and regulations which may affect you if you require this type of work to be performed. We work closely with our clients during planning stages to determine exactly what their needs are, and design a plumbing system that will meet their needs.
During installation, we work with our customers very closely, aiming to provide installation and implementation with as minimum disruption as possible. We understand disruption can be an inconvenience and costly.
We highly recommend you contact a licenced plumber before you purchase an appliance or tapware. This is to ensure it will be suitable for your needs. We offer free quotes to assist with this.
Water pipe renewal
Your house may have existing Gal water pipes. Gal water pipes were used back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as your main water pipes under the floor. If you have Gal water pipes you could have some of the following problems;
- Low water pressure , discoloured water ( brown), blockages in your water pipework.
- Leaking water pipes
Care needs to be taken as buildings earth cables were attached to the pipework! This may need to be fixed before a plumber can assist in replacing the pipework.
If you plan on installing any new appliances and tapware we recommend you have your water pipes replaced to protect the new appliances & taps.
This involves replacing the existing gal pipe with a new copper pipe or new plastic pipework.
On all new water line works, a 500 KPA pressure limiting valve needs to be installed either at the water meter or in a suitable location.
This is to protect the taps from high water pressure and to protect your warranty. This is a Plumbing Industry Commision regulation.
With most new tapware the manufacturers specify the maxium rated KPA (water pressure) their tap will operate at. This is normally 500 KPA.

The following regulation applies if you’re living in an existing home. We may have to regulate the temperature coming into your bathroom to 50.C.
To prevent scalding, the delivery temperature of water for personal hygiene purposes (primarily bathroom taps) is legally required not to exceed:
> 45°C for early childhood centres, primary and secondary schools, and nursing homes or similar facilities for young, aged, sick or disabled persons (only a thermostatic mixing valve is acceptable to control this temperature).
> 50°C for all other buildings (either a tempering valve may be used, or a water heater designed not to exceed 50°C which is marked, “THIS APPLIANCE DELIVERS WATER NOT EXCEEDING 50°C IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 3498”. Restricting the delivery temperature in kitchens and laundries is optional.

Reviews
“We have been using Tim in our Business for many years doing every thing from Roof work, Hot Water Service Installation , New Roofing ,Fitting New Toilets, Fixing Roof Leaks, Compressed Air Lines etc. If he says he will turn up at a certain time, He Does. Highly reccomended”
“I used Tim to come out to our house and fix a small roof leak. It’s hard finding trades people that are willing to travel out to the sticks!!! 12months later, still no leaks, but came back to fix a leak at our front tap, he was very professional, and me not knowing anything about plumbing, explained everything that he had done. I Would highly recommend Plumbing by Tim!!!!”
“Tim has just completed our ensuite. It was not an easy job as the room was small.
He installed all new fittings, including an in wall cistern for the toilet.
He spent extra time ensuring all was perfect and the result was fantastic.”
“From start to finish we found Tim to be fabulous. So many great ideas that we hadn’t even thought of have become highlights in our new renovation. Dealing with tradies can sometimes be so daunting esp as so many only wanted to deal with my hubby but Tim was not like that at all and I felt completely comfortable with him. Tim worked around our schedule (which was at times quite hectic) and when a problem arose Tim came up with the solution and dealt with it in a truly professional manner….. Top notch work from a top notch bloke. Thank you so much Tim. Cass and Daniel”
“After being given the royal run around by countless other tradies, Tim was an absolute dream to work with. ALWAYS ontime, went far above and beyond in just about every aspect, was happy to work with us as first time DIY rennovators, suggesting lots of helpful tips to ensure everything would go smoothly as a whole (not just what he was quoting on). AND on top of all this he was quite reasonably priced and lovely to deal with as a person. I’d recommend Tim to anyone – if only all tradies where like you!”
“I don’t think I’m alone when I say “I always get a bit nervous when using a tradie I haven’t used before”. Tim’s great. He helped me out today with a small problem that could have been a much bigger one if not discovered. Polite, very helpful and on time. And also a nice guy. Will definitely use him again. Cheers Tim!”
