Services
Remedial Massage is
A treatment modality that manipulates the soft tissues of the body including movement for a specific therapeutic effect, rather than a general therapeutic effect.
It uses relevant techniques, lubricants and movements according to the client’s needs and response.
You can expect
- A brief history of your complaint
- An assessment of how your body moves standing, seated and lying
- To get on and off the table to re-assess once or twice in the treatment
- Massage, stretches and some active participation
- A few suggestions for homework including stretches
To feel alert, awake and energized after the treatment.
Musculoskeletal Therapy is
A therapy designed to treat the muscles and skeletal system using various soft tissue and mobilisation (not manipulation) techniques.
Used in the treatment and the rehabilitation of back pain, neck pain, joint pain, muscular dysfunction and/or injuries, musculoskeletal techniques incorporate a varied amount of “hands on” remedial and mobilisation techniques as well as home stretching and strengthening exercises. This assists in maintaining functional alignment of the skeletal system.
You can expect
- A detailed history of your complaint.
- A structured assessment of how your body moves standing, seated and lying.
- Orthopaedic special tests.
- Nerve conduction assessments valuable to understanding your weakness.
- Muscle firing sequencing so we can return them to normal function.
- Fully clothed treatment so wear something appropriate.
- Strength testing, joint mobilising, muscle energy techniques, myofascial techniques, some massage manoeuvers, stretches and some deep muscle trigger point work.
- A structured simple effective doable home exercise plan.
To reduce pain, improve function and start feeling normal again.
Kids Massage is
A complementary and alternative treatment that uses massage therapy, or “the manual manipulation of soft tissue intended to promote health and well-being” for children and adolescents.
I also focus on sports performance with Neurolymphatic Points and stretching which are gentler if painful treatment is a deterrent.
You can expect
- A brief history of your child’s complaint.
- An assessment of how they move specifically with their sport or activity.
- A treatment protocol matching to any sporting event or fixture.
- Clothed treatment for personal comfort.
- Massage, stretches and some active participation.
- Some specific suggestions for home exercises or stretches to improve movement.
To feel stronger, more flexible and energetic after the treatment.
Why is a pregnancy massage different?
The 3 stages of pregnancy have very specific and unique characteristics and must be dealt with by the therapist.
First trimester has hormone fluxes of extreme amounts and nausea is part of the side effects.
Certain points of the body are avoided throughout the journey to child birth as they may stimulate potential uncomfortable side effects.
The therapist should be well versed in what stage you are in and what clinical picture you present with.
The results from a good treatment include relief from
- altered body alignment
- unstable lower back and hips
- nerve pain and pinching around the sacrum
- sciatica & lower back pain
- pain between the shoulder blades
- spasms and cramping
- sleep issues and headaches
Why should you add massage into your pregnancy?
The 9 month pregnancy is one that is uniquely different to each and every woman.
No two sisters have the same biological and hormonal experiences, and the life that grows within imparts its own special gift of biomechanical stressors.
The therapist you choose should be someone that you trust, is experienced and wants to share your journey.
Massage has validity as a way to cope with the aches, pains and tension your body experiences. I can be part of the process and look after your bodies needs.

Reviews
“I would recommend Paula to everyone – even you you just need a good massage. I have seen many chiros and massage people over many years and she is absolutely wonderful. I went from limping to walking straight, and any niggles that start up she is straight on to them. I havn’t felt this good in years. She is amazing…. you will be so happy you made her your choice.”
“Paula is one of the best therapists I have been to. As a physio, I am astounded by her knowledge base and expertise. Her skill at massage is brilliant!
Can’t wait to get there for my next appointment.
Anna”
“Paula’s magic hands have found my ‘stress spots’ and have worked them out effectively. Her ability to pinpoint the problem areas and offer ways to work on them at home has also been welcomed. I look forward to my 4 weekly treatments and feel incredibly relaxed for days afterward. Thanks, Paula.”
“I jokingly asked Paula for a new body and a few days later I did feel like a new woman! I had been putting up with a sore hip for a long time and after two treatments it felt like I was floating (there was so much movement) – even my digestion felt better. More importantly to me at the time was that she also fixed my displaced rib and I was able to breathe without pain.
My family and friends have been treated by Paula for various problems for many years and she has never failed us.”
“I have been receiving monthly remedial massage treatment from Paula for approximately 10 years to assist with “re-setting” my back and neck muscles back into place after breaking my collarbone from a motorbike accident in the late 90’s. Paula’s hands are magical and she knows exactly what areas need manipulating to relieve the muscle strain. I have also recommended Paula to another friend who has problems with his legs and he has also enjoyed the pain relief benefits of Paula’s experience. I can’t speak highly enough of Paula’s experience and knowledge and look forward to my monthly treatments. Thanks Paula, Matt Giddins”
