WHY DO WE ROCK ON?

The Nitty Gritty

Here’s our BIG issues and what we stand for. There is a lot more to us, But this is the fuel that lights our fire.

1. Taking the PAIN out of Cooking.
Yes, yes, chefs will still burn, cut, tattoo & self-inflict raging hangovers to themselves.
But we are here to tackle the daily pains and annoyances of the dreaded waiter & chef uniforms.

2. Women to Wear Women’s Uniforms.
It is really important to us that female chefs have comfortable flattering womens uniforms available to them, that are made to actually fit them correctly. No more uni-sex chef man-i-forms!
IF YOU’RE A FEMALE CHEF,
WHY ARE YOU STILL WEARING MEN’S CLOTHING?
“90% of female chef’s work in male uniforms”

What’s our Plan Stan?
First we are tackling the uniform designs. As chefs we know what drives us insane and we’re close enough to the front of house staff to hear their whimpers too. Here’s some areas we have addressed;

  • Apron Neck Rubbing
  • Apron Sizes
  • Both Boobs Covered Policies
  • Fitted Women’s Uniforms
  • Double Stitched Chef Pants And Jackets
  • QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY
  • Comfort
  • Durability
  • Style

When your uniform is comfortable and you are not in pain at work, it enhances your performance.

When your uniform makes you look like a million bucks, naturally you feel better, which inspires confidence and promotes better work function-ability. We design uniforms that aid you in your workplace, make you feel good and help your work day.

We know what it’s like to work 16 hours a day in hot kitchens or waiting the tables. It may sound Cheesy but   LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD, WORK DAMN GOOD !!

Some chefs have big egos. We probably shouldn’t boost them more but it really does make a difference to your day if; Firstly, you’re not in pain from chefs crack or other chafing or uniform problems and secondly, you look good. You have more confidence and a higher chance of promotion up the ranks if you’re looking good.

If your front of house team look awesome & feel awesome, we guarantee that energy will flow into your customers awesome dining experience in your establishment.

BE READY 4 SERVICE,  BE READY 2 ROCK!!

Mission Impossible
The second task at hand is our commitment to gender equality. We strongly oppose uni-sex uniforms and believe the ‘man i form’ has got to go. Its time for women to dress as women in the kitchen.

As a female chef myself the chafing and pain generated from wearing men’s low crotch pants in kitchens and the low self-esteem and lack of confidence generated from potato sack chef jackets shouldn’t be tolerated.

We don’t want the future female chefs to endure the pains of the uni-sex uniforms that the female chefs of yesterday had to go through.

As female chefs ourselves we have designed a modern edgy range of women’s uniforms.

Our range includes the “Plain Jane” jacket made from quality fabric in the traditional chef white style, but it actually fits women of all sizes flatteringly and comfortably.

Our other female designs we pimped up for chefettes who really want to rock the kitchen and show who’s boss!

The Head Rocker, Bec Telford with the famous rocking fairy tale of how R2R was born.

Once upon a time, on an island not so far away, there was a little girl.

She was destined to become the queen of awesome hospitality uniforms, but alas around the turn of the millennium troubling things did happen and she became a bad bad girl! She dropped out of school, swore like a sailor, smoked like a chimney, raged to heavy rock music and loved to destroy kitchens when cooking up a storm.

At sweet sixteen she became a chef. She made 3 bowls of porridge, one for … Oh hold on, wrong story. Sorry.

She worked her little butt off getting the normal chef tyranny’s of abuse, cut’s, burns, tattoo’s, drinking & partying habit’s and generally years of no sleep. She absolutely loved it!

Time ticked by, until all of a sudden in her mid twenty’s she caught a nasty travel bug. It was decided she was going to road trip around ALL of Australia following a giant orange dirt road with her dog Toto  Chilli.

She informed her father of her majestic travel plans and in return he gave her the best advice he could, “whatever you do, DON’T BUY AN OLD VW KOMBI VAN”! Being an extremely obedient girl, and always one to listen to her father, the very next day she proudly purchased one off EBAY.

A couple of rolls of duct tape and fencing wire later, she set off from Melbourne on her BIG 1 year cooking adventure.

THE ROCK-MOBILE ! !   Vantastic Delivery’s!
It took seven years eight months ten days, three engine rebuilds, a lime green paint job, new roof, a couple of dud love stories, an alternator caught fire and finally some new twin Weber carby’s until she arrived back in Melbourne.

It was while she was away ‘finding herself’ & ‘restoring the Kombi that couldn’t’ she had dreamed of making a chef wear range that actually fit chefs and reduced some of the pains while cooking.

Living in outback Aussie she had realised just how shit the chef unifo rm choice was, especially the womens uniforms. In 2014 while living in Broome W.A she went back to school and obtained her Certificate 4 in Small Business Management. She also designed a whole lotta cool edgy men’s and women’s chef uniforms.

Using her sweaty hard-earned chef dollars she had the little stick figure scribbled design’s ‘come to life’. She found solutions for many of the flaws in the current chef wear giving the designs a little flair.

Soon after getting back to the big smoke in 2015. Ready2Rock Hospitality Uniforms was really born.

It is still early days for us at R2R, but slowly this young chef’s girl dreams are becoming a reality.

We WILL transform the Hospitality Industry’s chef and waiter wear, by offering new high-quality modern designs with a good dollop of chef attitude and humour.

Our biggest aim is to destroy the Unisex Man-i-Forms of yesterday.

We want to minimise the general pains and annoyances of the chef wear we all seem to still be wearing in 2016, designed a long long time ago, that were barely okay, once upon a time.
