The World’s First Eco-Certified Self Tanning Brand

In 2011, TanOrganic realised one of the companys most significat accomplishments. TanOrganic had to complete a meticulous 18 month long process in order to be awarded the well deserved Eco-certification.

Why would you make your product Eco-certified?

Noelle O’Conner, TanOrganic’s creator’s initial aim was to achieve Eco certification. We are very proud as a company to produce 100% natural and organic products. Achieving this was Noelle’s way of expressing to the world that this cutting edge tanning product is in deed 100% natural and organic.

Dissimilar to food labels, cosmetic labels have do not have any legal definition. Cosmetic labels can legally use words such as herbal, natural or organic and their product may only contain as little as 1% of a natural or organic product stated.

The EcoCert seal of approval is a great way to tell the difference between what really is 100% natural and organic and prove your product is doing exactly what it says on the tin, or in this case, bottle.

To ensure an environmentally friendly product, EcoCert lays down some strict laws.

  • It cannot contain any GMO’s. parabans, animal derived ingredients (unless naturally produced by them) synthetic ingredients or PEG’s.
  • The packaging must be biodegradable or recyclable.

For the natural and organic cosmetic label:

  • A minimum of 95% of all plant-based ingredients in the formula and a minimum of 10% of all ingredients by weight must come from organic farming.
  • The labelling must be transparent for the consumer
  • TanOrganic received their certification in 2012 and continue to ensure that our products are not only great for your skin but for the environment too!
