Choosing a Chiropractor in Point Cook, South Yarra and South Wharf

Our approach is simple. We believe that health is amongst our most valuable possessions. And while we generally meet people after they’ve lost their health, our commitment is two-fold.

1. Relief Care in Point Cook and South Yarra

Many people seek care in our practice and have one goal: relief. So that’s where we start! During this initial stage of intensive care, we have several obligations:

  • Uncover the underlying cause of the health problem
  • Suggest a care plan to produce the fastest results possible
  • Offer ways patients can participate in their recovery
  • Explain the value of post-symptomatic wellness care

2. Wellness Care in Point Cook and South Yarra

We’re committed to teaching our patients that true health is a journey, not a destination. Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of ongoing chiropractic care. Our desire is to see our practice members abandon the prevailing sickness care model of health (waiting for symptoms and then taking action), in favour of the emerging wellness model.

You’re the Boss

Regardless of your health goals, please understand that we see ourselves as mere servants. You’re the boss! It’s your body, your health and your future. Our job is to offer you the finest chiropractic care possible in Point Cook, make appropriate recommendations and work together to achieve your goals.

Services

Remedial / Deep Tissue

Is a therapeutic treatment that helps to restore function to injured “soft tissue” (muscle, tendons and ligaments). Its is a strong and deep massage which is great for muscle spasms and dissolving muscle tension.

Relaxation Massage

Various techniques are used to help relax sore, tired muscles and loosen stressful tension that build up inside. The therapist responds to the patients body enabling the most effective form of relaxation massage possible. Certainly popular amongst those with high stress levels and daily frustrations.

Sports Massage

Combines different massage techniques to enhance sports performance and recuperation. It can be tailored to concentrate on the muscles relevant to your sport/activity. An effective component of any training program.

Dry Needling

Treatment involves the insertion of solid, filament needle, as is used in the practice of acupuncture, usually in or around Myofascial Trigger Points. Myofascial Trigger Points have been described as a “hyper-irritable spot within a skeletal muscle”. Myofascial Trigger Points are points in muscles which are painful when pushed. Trigger points can refer pain and create dysfunction else where in the body.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient method of causing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.

Cupping has also been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin and release any fascia build ups. Cupping is the best deep tissue massage available. Cupping, the technique, is very useful and very safe and can be easily incorporated into your family health practices.

Myofacial Release

Myofascial Release is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

In the normal healthy state, the fascia is relaxed and wavy in configuration. It has the ability to stretch and move without restriction. When we experience physical trauma, scarring, or inflammation, however, the fascia loses its pliability. It becomes tight, restricted and a source of tension to the rest of the body. Trauma, such as a fall, whiplash, surgery or just habitual poor posture over time and repetitive stress injuries has cumulative effects. The changes they cause in the fascial system influence comfort and the functioning of our body. The fascia can exert excessive pressure producing pain or restriction of motion. They affect our flexibility and stability, and are a determining factor in our ability to withstand stress and strain.
