Special Fx Hair Studio first opened in 2004.

We are a hairdressing, make-up and tanning salon situated on Scrub Road Carindale.

Michelle is the Owner/manager and master stylist who has been hairdressing for 23 years and is very qualified in her job, finishing many diplomas in colour, style, lightening and many more.

She has also won many industry hair competitions. Specialising in Wedding and formal styles, extensions, colour work and precision cutting.

Michelle is also a session stylist working for TIGI and for GHD at Mercedes Benz Fashion week working backstage at many fashion shows. Michelle is also a makeup artist and spray tan specialist.

Krystal is our senior stylist. Krystal is a confident hairdresser with a passion in colouring.

Krystal has a certificate in ‘hair tattooing’ designing a special design especially for you. Krystal is also known for her amazing scalp massages and her attention to detail beauty work.

She has a bubbly personality and is always focused on making your time in the salon welcoming.

Greta is our wonderful salon assistant who will look after all your needs and comforts while visiting us.

Greta makes amazing refreshments and keeps the salon running smoothly so you can enjoy your time at Special Fx Hair Studio.

Fran is our newest member. Fran is currently studying at hairdressing school and quickly becoming an up and coming stylist.

Fran will make your visit comfortable and will look after you at the basin with the most relaxing scalp massages.

Colouring

Tigi and Paul Mitchell are the colours we use. Tigi and Paul Mitchell have one of the lowest ammonia levels on the market, This means it is a lot kinder to the hair leaving it glossy and refreshed.

Treatments

We care about the integrity of your hair so we use and recommend Colorphlex treatments. We also have the entire range of Malibu treatments which are all vegan friendly and very moisturizing.

Cutting

Style cutting is Michelle’s specialty. Having won many awards for her talents, come in and let her design a style which is perfect for you.

Prior to any cutting service you will be consulted to ensure a desired result is achieved.

We have many style magazines, photos or ideas for you to have a look at if you need some inspiration. Come in for a free consultation and we can find a style designed with your lifestyle in mind.

Foiling

Foils are a excellent way of adding a little or a lot of colour to your style.

With foils you can create a whole new dimention of colours to your new look, you can use several different shades of colours to shimmer through each strand of hair.

In salon we have three colour and foil experts technically trained to find a look designed especially for you.

Hair Extensions

We use 100% premium European grade Remy human hair. We have over 25 colours of hair extensions available.

We have 20″ and 24″ in Straight and Wavy. Our application methods include Tape, Microbeads or Shrinkies.

We Have Years of experience so we can advise and assist you in which is the best hair for your needs. All applications include cutting in for the best natural looking result.

 Spray Tanning

We are certified Tan by Lucy Lane  representatives.

Tan by Lucy Lane spray tans are a huge up and coming tan in the body building industry and are perfect for your everyday tans as well.

They are aloe vera based products which are soothe, hydrating and nourishing for the skin leaving it looking healthy.

It is a natural organic base so they are pleasant to smell and you can wash within as little as 1 hour.

We have attended many hair workshops and been to countless hair looks and learns.

By always maintaining our education we can offer you a guarantee that your special day will be made stress free, by educating ourselves we are able to find the best style to make you shine on your special day.
