Our Team

Wendy Lowe is the practice principal of Spring Street Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy. She is a titled  musculoskeletal physiotherapist, an APA titled sports physiotherapist, and an accredited physiotherapist with the NSW Institute of Sport. Over the years she has lectured on post graduate sports and spinal courses, taught fitness instructors and run fitness classes, worked with the Australian Ballet and Australian Rowing teams, and spent many years helping on the Commonwealth Bank Cycle Classic.

Having raced outrigger canoes for four years, Wendy is aware of the need to look after injuries quickly so that training disruption is kept to a minimum. In particular she gets a lot of satisfaction working with the local schools to treat and prevent rowing injuries. She maintains her special interest in strength and conditioning exercising for all ages and levels, applying her skills by working at the Alice Springs Masters Games in 2006, 2008 and 2010, as well as the World Masters Games in Sydney in 2009. Working at the various Masters Games has also reinforced her belief that we are never too old to keep playing!

Wendy loves kayaking and bushwalking, and went on a mission to experience the effect of altitude on exercise by climbing Kilimanjaro in October 2011! After more trekking Wendy decided to trade her worn out knee for a shiny new one in 2014 and is now ready for more adventures.

Kris Allan is also a titled musculoskeletal physiotherapist, has completed the APA sports physiotherapy training to level 2 standard, and works on field at schoolboy rugby. She maintains her love of treating dancers having worked at the Remedial Dance Clinic in London. Currently she is especially passionate about her ballroom dancing, ocean swims and yoga! She worked at the World Masters Games in Sydney in 2009, and regularly helps our patients with Pilates and return to work management, having a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.

Kris is passionate about solving complex musculoskeletal conditions in all age groups and having had shoulder reconstruction in 2014, is very able to assist her patients on the best road to recovery following surgery.  In 2015, just 12 months after surgery, Kris successfully completed her CanToo 2km ocean swim.

Prashant Jhala (PJ) is a passionate young physiotherapist who joined us in 2014. He is currently completing his postgraduate studies. He has worked across several clinics in Melbourne and with a number of sports teams and elite athletes, particularly runners, AFL players, cricketers and rowers. Complimenting his clinical work, Prashant teaches on courses for other physiotherapists and allied health professionals and is currently undertaking research work investigating the effects of workload on elite athletes. When he is not investigating biomechanics, Prashant continues his love of cricket by coaching junior elite development squads in men’s and women’s grade cricket.

Last but not least, Robyn is our lovely receptionist at the clinic. Robyn will be happy to assist you with making appointments either over the phone or in person.
