“Save your self some money by buying online”

“I recently flew to Vietnam. I booked the flight with Qantas, had a QF number, and even checked in through the Qantas website. Imagine my surprise when I got to the airport to find we were flying Vietnam Airlines!!! Not once did the guy at student flights in Chatswood say “This is a codeshare flight and you’ll actually be flying with VA”. I wouldn’t really have minded so much, but the VA flights ARE MUCH CHEAPER!!!!! After the tragedies of the Malaysian Airlines flights, I think that all codeshares should be made very clear when booking. I can see if booked online through Qantas that that is VERY clear, but unfortunately I made the mistake of going through Student Flights and it was well and truly kept quiet! We even had a conversation about preferring to fly Qantas over anyone else. I had all sorts of problems leading up to our trip which I had booked quite a long way in advance, with the guy who served me giving me the impression I could change dates at any time. Not true…well not without a HUGE fee. I will not be back.”
