“I bought a Scoopon deal to book for the night of my birthday party – Makeup Application, Hair Wash, Treatment & Up Do Style. I made the booking FIVE WEEKS in advance and was told no further confirmation of the appointment was necessary.

the morning before the appointment, i wanted to double check the time of 4.30 i wrote down was correct so i called and left a voicemail after several unanswered calls. i was called back at 4.30pm that day to be told that they could not honour the appointment time (because someone was apparently sick) and suggested they “squish me in at 11.30”, which i declined as my appointment was made at that time in order to fit in between my birthday luncheon at midday and birthday party that evening. the only other offer of help was to “write off” the appointment time and i would have to “book for another day fresh”.

to cancel a special event booking with LESS than 24HRS NOTICE, on a RACE DAY WEEKEND meant i had absolutely zero chance of rebooking these services elsewhere. moreover, the appointment handling also begs the question – would Studio Gloss have even called me if i did not call them? would i have rocked up at 4.30 on the afternoon of my birthday party to be turned away?

on a customer service scale, this ranks as nothing more as pathetic and i have requested a refund from Scoopon… and in light of the above, i’m pretty sure they’re not going to have any problem honouring that.”
