Sue Black leads a team of highly qualified and experienced hairstylists and makeup artists, with over 25 years experience working in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, who has won more than 18 industry awards and accolades over the years.

Sue loves the reward that comes from using her talents to help her clients find enjoyment through a beautiful and meaningful experience.

Sue’s greatest passion is working with brides. Her gorgeous bridal styles are underpinned by her knowledge of traditional Japanese coiffure, learned during her years working as a bridal hair and makeup artist in Tokyo.

After completing her apprenticeship in her native New Zealand, Sue was approached by the prestigious T&K Group to work in Japan. It was here that she spent two years learning Japanese traditional bridal styles.

At the salon where she worked, bridal preparations would take a team of at least three people about four hours. Not only did the bride have her hair styled in the traditional elaborate way, the makeup artists applied heavy white makeup to her face and neck as a sign of purity and she was dressed in a beautiful kimono made of many layers of silk.

But her love of bridal work does not mean that Sue does not look after ‘the rest of us’. She is a hairstylist without equal, having been trained in the famous Vidal Sassoon cutting technique, as well as being an expert in all the usual salon treatments including colouring, perming and straightening and eyelash and eyebrow tinting.

We LOVE weddings and we love making every part of your wedding preparations enjoyable, stress free and so much fun.

WELCOME into our beautiful air conditioned salon and enjoy a salon exclusive bridal experience.

Our salon is spacious & private and will be closed to the public if you would like to enjoy pre-wedding celebrations while we make a fuss of you on your special day.

Enjoy a High Tea for you and your bridesmaids or relax while sipping on Champagne and indulging in a selection of Canapes & Tapas.

We have exclusive in salon catering for you and your guests.

On Location Bridal Parties

Once you have booked your big day, you can rest assured that you are will have your stylists undivided attention, because you are their exclusive bridal booking for the day.

You can be sure that Sue Black exclusive will arrive on time and will not have to rush off to another appointment. We guarantee we will never cancel your booking to take someone else’s.

If your Wedding party is very large or you are making a very early start, we have a team of stylists who will get the job done in a professional relaxing manner.

We will always stay until you are on your way to the ceremony. Because bridal hair usually needs a settling in period she can make adjustments and perform any touch ups as required, place and attach your veil and make sure your lippy is looking luscious before you start the journey to one of the biggest days in your life.

No extra charges

Because Sue Black Exclusive is based in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, there are no travel charges for weddings on the Sunshine Coast. Nor is there an extra charge for public holidays.
