Breaking News
Taylorweir International School of Hairdressing has been recognised for its outstanding achievements and best practices by being awarded the 2013 Western Australia’s Small Training Provider Award by the Department of Training.
The Taylorweir International School of Hairdressing delivers Certificate II, Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma of Salon Management plus a range of non-accredited short courses designed to up-skill qualified hairdressers.
Since its inception in 1997, Taylorweir has always striven for excellence. The school prides itself in being the leading hairdressing registered training provider in Western Australia laying claim to training the majority of all hairdressing apprentices in this state than any other registered training organisation (RTO).
The past 15 years saw student numbers grow from 8 to the current tally of 600. To cater for these increases, premises came and went before settling into a convenient location in the heart of Northbridge on William Street. Not being content with being Western Australia’s largest private Registered Training Organisation for hairdressing apprentices, notably in 2009, they introduced international students to the fold.
Taylorweir has never lost sight of why it was initially established and has maintained quality hairdressing training as its core business viewing students and employers as equally important stakeholders.
Hairdressing is a serious business but it has to be fashion-forward and have modern appeal and this is what Taylorweir exemplifies in its commitment to excellence in the field of hairdressing. Its 94% completion rate speaks for itself. A further measure of success is the number of state and national awards that Taylorweir apprentices and graduates have won.
Taylorweir is always looking to reinvent itself to ensure continued improvement in the delivery of their services. The current vision is to introduce digital learning tools.
Following the retirement of one of the founding partners Carmel Weir, in 2012 Anne Taylor welcomed new partners Michele Scacchia and Liz Maher both of whom boast a wealth of hands-on local and international hairdressing and salon owner experience. As a vibrant directorial team they look forward to the future.

Reviews
“Taylorweir has been the best learning experience of my life! Throughout the 5 months I have spent here, it has improved my skills with hair, my confidence and has made me love hairdressing even more. I look forward to coming back in 2014 to do my Cert III. All the trainers have been lovely and they have done whatever they can to help me. The Cert II class I think is a very good way for that extra step up into hairdressing. I’m happy to walk away and take everything I have learnt with me.”
“Taylorweir has been a truly amazing and opportunistic experience for me. I have enjoyed various amounts of the education. My favourite learning experience for me would have to be the colour application. Even though it looks easy (Like anyone can do it on their own) it’s actually quite artistic.
The lecturers are kind and great at what they do. I couldn’t have felt more educated without them”
“My daughter was a model for Jessamy and the colour she created for Sophie was amazing she gave her foils and the depth of colour was just gorgeous, so so happy!!”
“I’ve been coming here for 3 years and absolutely love it, always leave happy:)”
“I’m so happy with the haircut and colour I received at Taylorweir a few weeks ago. The lovely girl (I think her name was Giordana) who took care of my dry, grown out ombre mess took so much time working out what I actually wanted, and during the colour selection and cut that wouldn’t happen in a busy salon. I left with beautiful hair (which has maintained a beautiful colour and shine) and the best thing is it only cost me a fraction of the price of a regular salon! Now I have much more natural and healthy looking hair…which is exactly at I wanted. I would recommend to anyone :)”
