The Governors is a men’s barber with two shops in Perth CBD, Western Australia. One in Central Arcade and the other in Cloisters Arcade.

The Owner, Spencer Doyle, comes from a family of Barbers – his father, uncle and grandfather were all Barbers. He has over 20 years experience, doing his apprenticeship in Perth then travelling to London to work alongside his uncle at his salon in Mayfair, London. This experience shines through in The Governors from the haircuts to the Mayfair service. All the staff must be of the highest level to work at The Governors so that all customers are completely satisfied.

This salon is no ordinary barber shop, hence the name The Governors.

We cut and style all boys’ and men’s hair. We know all the modern and classic styles. Our services also include shampooing, cut throat shaves, colours, streaks and blend away grey colours, plus we stock an extensive range of products. Gift vouchers are also available. Our shop has a very unique fit-out including DVD screens at every station. We pride ourselves on the highest quality of customer service.

“I’ve seen it said that the service is a bit expensive, but I have to disagree. $45 for a comfortable, quick and professional grade haircut and shampoo/condition is great value. The gentleman that cut my hair was polite, though perhaps not as chatty as other hairdressers I’ve had (I know that’ll be a bonus for a lot of people) and cut and styled my hair quickly and painlessly. I was served as soon as I walked in the door, though I understand I may have gotten lucky. The atmosphere was comfortable and sleek, and though I didn’t use it I appreciate the small DVD player at each seat. Even the location is great, plenty of places to eat afterward.
I would absolutely recommend this place to my friends and work mates. 5/5 for me”

“Paid 50 dollars for a haircut and beard trim…which is a bit steep, but I’m good with it if it’s well done. The haircut was okay… beard was trimmed a bit, not very even tho also was not shaved on the neck or the top bits on the cheek. So I had to go home and do it myself. On top of that, had shampoo dropped in my eye and my ear nicked, so I was bleeding as I left the shop….had I noticed that piece not sure I would have paid. There are plenty of shops in Perth that will do a better job for less, I most definitely will not be going back.”
