The Men’s Room Cutting & Grooming

The original business Matty G, Mens Cutting Room was founded by Matthew Glynn in November 2004.

After spending 14 years working exclusively in the mens hairdressing industry throughout Australia, he recognised a growing gap between disappearing traditional barbers and unisex salons still heavily geared toward females.

It just seemed obvious, a fresh modern approach was needed, what he wanted was a place men felt at home in.

He figured ‘if he had to work, and you needed a haircut, there may as well be beer in the fridge and sport on the TV!

Of course it just so happened he was also carving a name for himself as one the best cutters in the industry, his excellent reputation, and down to earth nature attracted a very loyal clientele, which continues to grow today.

In 2009 after the success of his first salon, Matt and his team decided to relocate and re-brand to incorporate more services in an ever growing industry.

It was also at this time he was selected by American Crew, the world’s leaders in mens grooming as a finalist for Face Off.

In November 2010, Matt & his family made the move to the Sunshine Coast Queensland.

There they opened their 2nd salon The Mens Room Queensland, a brother salon to the Geelong store. In October 2012 they opened their 3rd salon FRED & GINGER a unisex salon.

Recently opening a 3rd The Mens Room and a new womens salon REVERED.

Today Matt and his team across the country are highly skilled and very talented, dedicated to providing outstanding customer service at all the salons.

The Mens Room, cutting and grooming together with our Revered Ladies Salon, offers an up market experience in an outstanding luxury salon.
