The Plumbing Doctor (Queensland) is a locally owned and operated Company with both Directors having lived on the Coast since 2001.

Ian has more than 30 years experience in the plumbing insdustry and Bob has the equivalent experience in the areas of Administration and Operations. Julie, our full time job controller will go out of her way to ensure your enquiry or job is handled with the utmost attention and expedience, keeping you informed at all times of its progress.

All tradesmen are employees of the Company – we do not operate under a franchise system or engage sub-contractors. This allows us to maintain control over the day to day operations of the Company ensuring quality service delivered in optimal time frames.

The Plumbing Doctor is actively involved in the Gold Coast Community with ongoing plumbing apprenticeship programs, sponsorship of school based work experience and pre vocational trainees.

To date, The Plumbing Doctor (Queensland) has sponsored 4 Apprentices and we believe that this program is vital not only to the plumbing industry but to the benefit of the community as a whole.

“I placed a service call to The Plumbing Doctor on Monday 6/8/16 and discussed my hot water issue with a person who I believe to be one of the Directors. We agreed that the most likely problem was a failed temperature valve and I booked for a technician to come to my home at 7am Wednesday 8/6/16. When the technician arrived he inspected the hot water system and confirmed that it was a temperature valve that needed replacing but told me he didn’t have one with him and would have to go away to obtain a new valve. He was gone for 20 minutes and returned to complete the job. At completion of the job the technician informed me the cost was $314.33, I questioned him as to whether I was to be charged for the time it took for him to get the new valve and he called the office to confirm that I was in fact to pay for that time. I called the office later that morning and queried the matter again and was informed that sometimes the technicians don’t have the necessary parts and that I was responsible for the cost. I fail to see how it is my responsibility for the Company’s technician’s vehicles to be stocked especially when it had already been established that the likely cause of my issue was a faulty valve. This is also contrary to what is clearly advertised on the website: “ABOUT OUR PROFESSIONAL PLUMBING SERVICES A team of friendly, fully qualified and professional tradesman in fully stocked service vehicles.” Conveniently this claim has since been removed from their website. Not only was I charged for time (20 minutes) that wasn’t my responsibility but I was also inconvenienced as I needed to leave to get to my own place of employment. This business is totally lacking in integrity, I certainly won’t be calling them again.”

“I called them 7:30 on Monday morning and asked to locate and repair a pipe burst. It wasn’t fixed until Saturday lunch time. They had trouble finding the leak and each time leak locator and plumber attended I got charged. Their excuse was they were simply too busy and could not do anything but leaving my backyard flooded. They even tried to leave it until next Monday because they didn’t want plumbers to work on Saturday.”
