The Salon Alternative brings the hair salon right to your home. Based on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Kate offers cuts for women, men and children, as well as permanent and semi-permanent colour, foils, styling and bridal styling.

Hi, I’m Kate.

My experience in the hairdressing industry spans over 13 years. I moved to Sydney when I was 17 from my tiny hometown of Eugowra in Central West New South Wales to the breathtaking Northern Beaches. I began an apprenticeship at Cassidy’s in Freshwater, and this where I stayed for over a decade. During this time I had the opportunity to study with some of Australia’s top hairdressers including Sharon Blain, Dario Controneo and Shane Henning to name just a few. I also was lucky enough to undertake intense training in cutting and colouring at the Toni and Guy, Goldwell and Tigi academies.

After spending time abroad, I wanted something different, a more personal experience for myself and my clients. That’s why an in-home service works. I feel very special to be welcomed into my clients homes and I get to meet the whole family, pets included!
