Jake Rowe is an experienced musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist who has had a special interest in working with shoulder injuries and overhead athletes for the last 8 years. He has a keen interest in understanding all of the complex biomechanical and physiological factors that can cause shoulder pain and dysfunction. He has lectured in this area to other physiotherapists and doctors as part of his work with the University of Bath and is currently undertaking a Clinical Doctorate on the shoulder at La Trobe University.

Appointments

Initial assessments are booked for one hour to allow time for a detailed history and examination to be taken of your shoulder and related areas. During this session you will receive a clinical diagnosis, advice on likely contributing factors and a treatment/management plan.

Digital dynamometry (muscle strength testing) and video are used to aid assessment and provide objective outcome measures.

Jake Rowe is a musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist with over 12 years experience. He has spent the last 8 years of his practice focusing on shoulder related injuries such as impingement symptoms, glenohumeral instability and rotator cuff injuries. His clinical experience in this area has extended to teaching other Physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches and Pilates instructors about best practice in the area of shoulder assessment and management.

At the University of Bath, Jake worked as both a physiotherapist with swimming and tennis teams as well as a Teaching Fellow, directing the shoulder component of the Sports Physiotherapy Masters program for the four years. Back in Sydney, Jake is now working with the shoulder research group at La Trobe University to complete a Clinical Doctorate of Physiotherapy.

Jake has worked with a people with a wide range of shoulder injuries and requirements, from office workers to manual workers, social athletes to full-time elite athletes. He has a good understanding of the unique challenges that the shoulder can present, whether it be getting person with a deconditioned shoulder back to weekend tennis or a professional athlete back to optimal performance.
