The terrace style building, which was built in 1894, was first transformed in 2003 with a complete fit out offering slick interiors with practical style. Then in 2007 the salon was extended onto the first floor doubling the size. The first floor is a specialist technical colour area with a more relaxed mood as you are away from the hustle of King Street. The team at TONI&GUY Newtown are specialists in cutting and colouring and are involved more than ever in continual training and education and are in high demand for the expertise for photo shoots and fashion parades. We can offer expert advice for all your hair needs. TONI&GUY Newtown are exclusive stockists of label.m, System Professional, GHD and use Wella. Sustainable Salons

TONI&GUY Newtown are part of the newly launched program called Sustainable Salons Australia. As an SSA salon, the team recycles and reuses up to 95% of the waste. Even the hair which is cut and would normally go in the bin, is used to create a hairboom barricade for oils spills in our oceans. Even Our coffee granules are re-used in community garden projects. Salon Owner Lea-Ann is a leading force with-in the industry when it comes to progressive ideas and implementation for sustainability. Recently, Lea-Ann was interviewed & featured on SKY NEWS business programme “Smart Money” hosted by former Australian of the Year, Planet Ark & Do Something founder, Jon Dee. LEA-ANN SUTHERN / SALON DIRECTOR & ART DIRECTOR

Starting her career in Canberra in 1992, Lea-Ann had already spent many years working in hairsalons helping her Mum by sweeping floors and folding towels. Awarded the A.C.T Hairdressing Apprentice of the year in 1995, Lea-Ann quickly moved to Sydney to gain more experience. Joining TONI&GUY in 1998 as manager of the newly opened McMahons Point Salon saw Lea-Ann rise to be Artistic Director of the salon as well. Next stop London….for two years Lea-Ann worked at the Regent Street salon & teaching in the London Academy. Her proudest moment was having her Art Directors presentation introduced by Anthony Mascolo, the then Creative Director for TONI&GUY Worldwide and youngest brother of founder Toni Mascolo. Upon return to Australia, her next challenge was to open her own Toni&Guy Salon and Newtown was her only choice. Opening in 2003, the salon has built a reputation for excellence. During this time Lea-Ann has been a leading educator for TONI&GUY Label M & Wella. Hair Director for fashion shows, Hairdressing Industry & Careers guest speaker and has won numerous awards for business and her salon. Recently awarded “Gold Member “ status from the Australian Hairdressing Council sees that Toni&Guy Newtown has achieved the highest standard of industry accolade.

NICOLE / EDUCATIONAL ART DIRECTOR

Nicole is a TONI&GUY success story. After starting her apprenticeship at T&G in the Pitt Street flagship store in 1999, she has earned her way to the top to be one of the main educators and artistic team members. Nicole travels twice a year to London to join the team for London Fashion Week and also the annual collection launch. In 2015 Nicole was a finalist for Newcomer of the Year in the prestigious Australian Hair Fashion Awards and was also a Finalist for Fashionista of the Year in the EVY Hot Shots competition. She spends her time either backstage, on a photo shoot or on stage representing label.m, Wella & TONI&GUY internationally. You can fine her cutting hair at TONI&GUY Newtown from Wednesday to Saturday.

JANE / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/STAFF TRAINER

After years working for TONI&GUY in Glasgow, Jane made the move to London where she became an International Artistic Director and was part of the team that taught the future staff of TONI&GUY.

Jane has now been in Australia for 2 years and has established herself as an integral part of the Newtown team. Specialising in advanced hair cutting, Jane brings a wealth of knowledge to your salon experience.

Brigitta has worked for TONI&GUY for over 15 years, specialising in colour. With nearly 30 years experience in the industry, she became part of the Newtown team in 2014 sharing her passion and knowledge with our clients.

Brigitta also works as a qualified TAFE teacher delivering the education and skills to the next generation of hairdressers.
