Urban Empire Newcastle has claimed Newcastles’ number 1 barbershop title over the past few years.

Established long before the many niche barbershops popped up around town, it has long held the title of Newcastles’ best Urban Barbershop.

Recruiting from all over the country and New Zealand, we have been home to some of Australias greatest talent.

Specialising in hair art or ‘tracks’, fades and style cuts, our senior barbers are also fully qualified hairdressers and offer ladies cuts, patterns and ladies hair art.

Originally opened as Clipper City in 2012, then expanding into retail and rebranding as Urban Empire in 2014 we offer exclusive street wear clothing brands from all over the globe.

Our brands include Crooks n Castles, Krew, Chinga, Cayler & Sons, LIVIN, AS Colour, Timberlands, K Swiss, Supra, Diamond Supply Co, New Era, AGOS and AXE GANG CLOTHING.

As well as mens street wear we offer a range of kids brands including Beau Hudson, From Zion, Little Villains, Kingstown Apparel, and kids sizes in Timberlands and New Era caps.

Located at 1a Darby street, the corner of Darby and Hunter street Newcastle, open Tuesday – Saturday. We pride ourselves on our product and service!

Services

Razor Fade – $35 Style cut to a zero using a cutthroat razor, finished with a style dry and pomade

Style Cut – $30 Restyle, Short back and sides or a fade, finished with a style dry and pomade

Buzz Cut – $20 One number all over, edges lined up

Kids Cut (Up to 15 years) – $25 Children’s style cut, up to 15 years. Does not include tracks

Tracks/Patterns – $15 – $25 Per panel, prices may vary depending on detail and size

Nape Shave – $10 Nape Shave or undercut, mainly for ladies styles. Add $15 – $15 for patterns

Beard Trim – $10 Shaping and tidy of the beard, including line up and neck tidy

Cutthroat Shave – $30 Facial shave using a cutthroat razor, skin soothing lavendar oils and a hot towel

Ladies Style Cut – $30 Ladies trim or restyle
