Victoria Point Chiropractic offers the services of chiropractors and massage therapists.

On contacting Victoria Point Chiropractic or visiting our clinic, you will be greeted by a receptionist from our administrative team.

Receptionists perform a myriad of tasks that enable the practice to run smoothly and efficiently.

Their two main objectives are that your needs as a patient are met in an environment that is comfortable for you and that practitioners are able to focus entirely on your needs whilst you are with them.

Our receptionists monitor all chiropractic and massage appointments, ensure your questions are appropriately and adequately answered and generally attempt to make you feel comfortable and welcome on your visits.

CHIROPRACTORS

Li-Sa Choi

BAppSc (Clinical Science) BChiroSc (Chiropractic) GradDip (Animal Chiropractic)

Li-Sa graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, (RMIT) with a double degree, in 2000. Li-Sa continued to study and in 2006 completed a Graduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic from (RMIT). She is qualified to practice dry needling and is a member of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA).

Li-Sa joined John Worrall at his Coorparoo practice in January 2001 and in August 2003 commenced practice at Victoria Point Chiropractic. Li-Sa took a break between November 2008 and March 2010. During that time she practised as a locum in the Brisbane area.

She uses a wide range of technique approaches that enable her to personalise treatment protocols to suit a very broad cross section of the community. Tailoring her approach to each case and measuring outcomes is an important component of Li-Sa’s practice.

Li-Sa particularly enjoys seeing families. She uses her training in animal chiropractic and love of dogs to treat the canine members of patients’ families and other dogs especially referred to her.

Li-Sa has many interests that include: physical activities, painting and learning musical instruments.

Her focus as a chiropractor is to assist patients to meet personal health goals and achieve a balanced lifestyle.

Bethany Higgins (Formerly: Bethany Coombes)

BChiroSc MChiroSc Macquarie

Bethany completed her Masters degree in Chiropractic at the Macquarie University, Sydney, in 2009. She practised in Sydney after graduation and moved to the Redlands region of South East Queensland in September 2010, to join Victoria Point Chiropractic. She is a member of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA).

Bethany was a tutor in peripheral biomechanics at the Macquarie University and enjoys treating and providing rehabilitative care for all joint and spinal issues.

She has a special interest in finding ways to assist patients who have chronic pain syndromes, migraines and chronic headaches. Bethany draws on a wide range of techniques specific to chiropractic practice and from other fields in physical medicine. This enables her to approach cases in a wide age range and tailor treatment approaches to suit individuals.

Bethany is passionate about improving joint, muscle and nerve function. Her focus is to eliminate pain and promote health using a holistic approach and varied techniques.

In conjunction with exercise, Bethany believes that a healthy diet, adequate rest, good  posture and positive attitudes are important to maintaining great health.

Please Note: 

Bethany commenced maternity leave on the 24th December 2016 and a healthy baby girl arrived on the 26th January 2017. Bethany and Isabelle are both doing well. Nathan Reynolds (see profile below) has been engaged to care for Bethany’s patients throughout her maternity leave. Nathan worked alongside Bethany from the 22nd November 2016 to enable him to meet and become familiar with as many of Bethany’s patients as possible before she commenced leave. Nathan and Bethany have methodology simiilarities so we are hoping patients experience a seamless transition from Bethany to Nathan. Bethany is expected to be on leave for at least 12 months.

Gareth Hood

BChiroSc MChiro Macquarie

Gareth completed five years of study at Macquarie University in 2010. He practised in Newcastle before joining Victoria Point Chiropractic in December 2015. He is a member of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA).

Gareth enjoys investigating and working towards a resolution for the wide variety of cases he is consistently presented with.

Whilst studying at Macquarie University Gareth tutored students in anatomy and physiology. He has a particular interest in managing patients with headaches, dizziness and poor posture.

Gareth’s primary focus is assisting patients to achieve better performance whether it is on the sporting field, at the office or at home enjoying favourite hobbies. He empowers his patients through developing an understanding and recognition of the principle that pain, discomfort, inefficient function and poor posture are all contributors to how we perform in our day to day lives.

In his spare time, Gareth enjoys running, surfing and martial arts training.

Nathan Reynolds

BSc (Chiro) BChiro Murdoch BExSc Griffith GC

Nathan graduated as a chiropractor in 2010 from Murdoch University in Perth, West Australia. He had previously received an Exercise Physiology degree from Griffith University on the Gold Coast.

Nathan has a special interest in the treatment of stubborn or chronic conditions by combining traditional chiropractic treatment with the most up to date rehabilitation techniques. His combined qualifications provide a broad skill set in relation to the treatment of injury and rehabilitation.

Nathan helps with a wide range of complaints by focusing on improving the function of the neuro-musculoskeletal system which assists to correct posture, increase strength and coordination. Nathan uses manual therapies, specific rehabilitative and exercise prescription techniques as well as dietary advice to achieve optimal outcomes. He is qualified to use many soft tissue techniques, including Dry Needling used to treat trigger points and provide relief for back, neck and joint pain.

Nathan is looking forward to settling in the Brisbane region after working in different parts of Australia, including Perth, Melbourne, the Sunshine Coast and rural Queensland.

Please note:

Nathan joined Victoria Point Chiropractic on the 22nd November 2016 to look after the patients of Bethany Higgins whilst she is on maternity leave. Nathan worked alongside Bethany until she commenced leave on the 24th December 2016. Although primarily engaged to  care for Bethany’s patients throughout the period of her leave, Nathan will be available to anyone who chooses to appoint with him.

MASSAGE THERAPISTS

Cleveland Chiropractic and Brisbane CBD Chiropractic do not offer massage therapy but Victoria Point Chiropractic has very experienced massage therapists. In addition to holding diplomas in remedial massage, all massage therapists are members of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT) or Australian Natural Therapies Association (ANTA). They all subscribe to continuing professional development.

Massage therapists collaborate with chiropractors at all of our practice locations: Brisbane CBD, Cleveland, Victoria Point and with other health professionals to ensure the best outcome for mutual clients.

They are qualified in the use of a variety of techniques, enabling them to treat a broad spectrum of society.

All clients who are members of private health funds and are eligible to claim remedial massage therapy benefits can do so through our HICAPS facility or the relevant fund.

Jarmo Sirvio

Dip Remedial Massage

Jarmo received a Diploma of Remedial Massage and Trigger Point Therapy Certificate in March 2006 from the Australian Institute of Applied Science. He is a member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT).

In July 2012 Jarmo commenced  at Victoria Point Chiropractic in the Redlands region of South East Queensland. He uses a variety of techniques such as remedial, sports, deep tissue, acupressure and relaxation.

Jarmo has worked in a number of clinical settings. He has had experience involving a diverse clientele, including the following football teams: Brisbane Broncos- NRL & Brisbane Lions- AFL. Working with the rehabilitation of elderly war veterans enabled Jarmo to enhance his diagnostic capabilities.

Jarmo has a professional demeanour and strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

His aim is to continue to learn and grow as a massage therapist whilst assisting the recovery of clients with  muscle imbalance, aches, pains, tensions and injuries.

Eligible members of most private health funds can claim rebates for remedial massage  with Jarmo. This can be done through our HICAPS facility or by submitting a claim to the relevant fund.

Dimple Amin-Patel

Dip Remedial Massage

Dimple has a background in paediatric nursing. She worked for ten years in special needs organisations and children’s hospices in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia. Working in children’s hospices led to her interest in massage.
She is currently a member of the Queensland Nursing Council and Australian Association of Massage Therapists.

Dimple studied massage therapy after moving to Australia with her husband in 2008.
In September 2009, she completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage and also attained Short Course Certificates in Infant Massage, Reflexology, Heated and Chilled Stone Massage (Hot Rocks). She hopes to complete a course in Advanced Remedial Therapy in the future.

Her passion remains in working with special needs children, however, she thoroughly enjoys working with all people and caring for their individual needs. She aims to help muscle imbalances, aches and pains, injuries and tensions.

Dimple uses various techniques such as muscle energy, neuromuscular, trigger point, myofascial release and joint mobilisations. She also finds relaxation techniques such as those used in swedish massage a very rewarding experience.

Dimple started at Victoria Point Chiropractic in January 2010. She enjoys living and working in the Redlands region of South East Queensland.

Hannah Woodroffe-Hill

Dip Remedial Massage

Hannah completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage through Q Academy in 2015 and is a member of the Australian Natural Therapies Association (ANTA).

Hannah’s aim through treatment is to provide increased mobility so that her clients can lead an active lifestyle.

Hannah uses a combination of myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, deep tissue, yoga stretches and swedish massage to keep her clients feeling relaxed, balanced and free of tension.

Complementing her knowledge and skills as a Massage Therapist, Hannah has practised yoga for many years and more recently commenced teaching to share the balance, calmness  and healing she has found through yoga.

Eligible members of private health funds can claim rebates for remedial massage with Hannah. This can be done through our HICAPS facility or by submitting a claim to a private health fund.
