Services

Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage

Remedial massage is a deep massage done by a trained remedial massage therapist. It is used to treat chronic musculo-skeletal imbalances, strains, sprains or any injury where the skin is intact. Deep tissue massage removes blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions left after injury, speeds up recovery and encourages more complete healing. Remedial massage is also used for conditions created by lifestyle for example RSI (repetitive strain injury) and back pain.

Oncology Massage

Oncology massage is a specialised modification of massage techniques that take into account the effects of the cancer itself and the various types and stages of cancer treatment. It is very gentle and can be deeply profound. Oncology massage may be able to assist people living with and going through cancer treatment with their pain, stress, anxiety and discomfort.

Paediatric & Infant Massage

Children can experience pain and stress in much the same way as adult do, but may find it harder to communicate they have a problem. Massage tailored specifically for children can help alleviate pains, anxiety and depression. Nurturing touch is essential in helping children develop their full potential and grow into happy and well adjusted humans.

Paediatric and Infant Massage Course for parents and carers run over 3 weeks for 1 – 1.5 hours per session for groups or ask about individual one on one family sessions.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy or Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage – to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it’s also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies throughout pregnancy.

Relaxation & Restorative Massage (Swedish)

There are different forms of relaxation massage, such as Swedish relaxation massage. It incorporates long strokes, kneading and tapping all in the same direction as your blood flow. Going slightly deeper than the average relaxation massage and applying more pressure while still reducing stress and promoting relaxation, it will also sooth your nervous system.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is extremely effective for pain control and active rehabilitation. It involves placing acupuncture needles into muscle tissue and eliciting a twitch response (also referred to as a releasing of the muscle) to stimulate the healing process. It can be helpful in releasing chronically tight muscles and also muscles in spasm. Dry needling works by increasing blood supply to the tissue in much the same way as massage. The needle is much finer and more accurate than a thumb so it can be a very precise and powerful technique. The technique is different to acupuncture in that it is based on western anatomy and medicine and not Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is used purely for muscular-skeletal conditions and is not used for treating other conditions as acupuncture can be.

Ear Candling

The warmth from the lighted candle is very soothing to the ear canal and may result in a very relaxed state, a deep sense of security and a feeling of happiness during and following the treatment. We only use Australian Made and Owned candles.

Testimonials

“I treat myself to a full body massage and have been seeing Jen. The moment I lie down on the massage table I feel better. The environment is so peaceful; it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. Jen is able to use deep pressure on the areas that I need it, and lighter pressure on other areas. Jen is flexible, accommodating and most of all listens to your needs. I highly recommend Jen at Vital Elements Massage. Thank you.”

“Like most people, I only ever used massage therapy as a temporary measure to address the pain I was experiencing at the time. However I have been a client of Jen’s for around 12 months now, not only to relieve stress and pressure associated with my work and physical pursuits, but also to maintain a healthy wellbeing. Jen’s extensive knowledge and training means she is able to acutely assess my trouble areas and apply attention accordingly. Jen is also good at applying a varied approach to ensure the greatest benefit during and after the massage.
I am very particular about the type of massage approach that works best for me, but I find it’s also important to have good rapport with your massage therapist. Jen is a lovely, lively, warm person with excellent listening skills and takes a genuine interest not only in your health and wellbeing, but also in you as a person. Jen creates a very safe and calm space, and makes you feel completely at ease right from the start. As I have done before for others, I will gladly recommend Jen for your remedial massage needs.”

“I highly recommend Jennifer for a massage. She’s professional, friendly and really focused on meeting her client’s expectations. She is truly compassionate and committed to making a difference to her clients through her massage therapy. Her massages are one of the best massages I have ever had. I went to Jennifer with huge knots and neck pain. The pressure was just right and all the right areas were worked on. I am looking forward to my next massage.”

“I’ve been a client of Jen’s for a couple of years now, and she has helped me immensely with my back and neck. Her wonderfully healing hands have massaged me pre, during and post pregnancy, accommodating every stage and giving my body exactly what it needed. She is a perfect balance between the firmness required to manipulate un-cooperative muscles, and the soft spirituality to calm the mind.”
