WA Backflow Prevention Services
WA Backflow Prevention provides the following consultation and backflow device testing services to our Perth customers:
Consultations
WA Backflow Prevention plumbers are available for consultation on all your backflow device needs. We can perform pressure testing of units; determine which specific valves are required by Australian Building Codes; and provide quotes and pricing for installation of new units.
New Installations of Backflow Devices
WA Backflow Prevention can install new backflow devices at your property. We provide a quick turnaround service and competitive rates. Our plumbers are fully-licensed and certified to install the units and are members of the Master Plumber’s Association.
Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs of Backflow Devices
Backflow prevention devices must be tested when installed, after any maintenance is performed, and at least once every 12 months after that by a licensed plumber who is certified to perform this type of work. WA Backflow Prevention can conduct these tests for you at each stage and even offer a hassle-free, three-year plan to take the stress out of compliance – simply utilise our free consultation service, then engage our testing services for three years and we will perform the necessary tests annually (without you having to worry about it) and offer you a 10% discount on each test over that period. Alternatively, you can engage our services to test your property’s backflow device on a one-off basis as needed if you prefer. WA Backflow Prevention plumbers will conduct testing on your backflow device to identify any issues with the unit; will replace valves and other parts where required; and will complete all necessary Water Corporation certification forms.
WA Backflow Prevention can also provide any maintenance or repairs needed on your backflow device. We will alert you to any current or potential problems that are identified when we conduct our tests and can provide quick, competitive quotes to repair the device as needed.
Certification
After completing annual backflow device testing, WA Backflow Prevention provides customers with a completed copy of Water Corporation certification forms. You can use these forms to verify your compliance with the Government and avoid receiving non-compliance notices or fines.
Why do I need backflow device testing?
It’s important to protect your staff, family, customers, and your business. Under Government legislation, all backflow prevention devices must be tested annually in order to ensure that there are no contaminants entering the water supply. Life-threatening contaminates can enter your fresh potable water supply from cross-contamination. The quality of drinking water can be threatened by the flow of water backwards from a customer’s property through their water service connection – hence the name ‘backflow’. This water can be contaminated by various activities conducted at a property, and as a result, people who ingest or otherwise use the water can be affected – significant health problems, even death, can be the result. In order to ensure that you comply with the Water Authority and prevent risk to both your business and people who enter your property, it’s vitally important that you have your backflow device tested each and every year.
What happens if I don’t get backflow testing done?
You should also be aware that your public liability insurance can become void if someone in your household or employ falls sick from contaminated water that is due to a backflow prevention device that has not been serviced regularly.
As you are required by law to have your backflow prevention device tested annually, if you do not you are putting yourself, your family, your colleagues, customers and anyone else in the area at risk. You also put your business at risk of fines and litigation – failure to maintain backflow devices can result in a non-compliance notice and possible fines of up to $2000 plus extra daily penalties for each day that the device remains untested.
Does WA Backflow Prevention provide a hassle-free solution to my backflow testing needs?
Yes, we offer a three-year streamlined plan whereby you receive a free initial consultation to determine your needs, and then enjoy annual backflow testing over a three year period. Take up this three-year plan to enjoy discounted rates of 10% on your annual tests.
Is WA Backflow Prevention a Master Plumber’s Association Member?
Yes, absolutely. WA Backflow Prevention founder/owner Tim Stokes has been a member of the Association since 2007. He is fully-licensed and certified to complete all work associated with backflow prevention and testing.
What methods of payment does WA Backflow Prevention accept?
You can pay WA Backflow Prevention using a variety of convenient methods. You can pay by cash, credit card, or via direct funds transfer with your bank.
