Services
Muscle Strains and Joint Pain
Muscle strains and joint pain including knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, foot and ankle pain can all benefit from treatment. We aim to not only treat the problem but to correct the imbalances which may have contributed to the problem occurring and to help to minimise the risk of recurrences.
Spinal Pain and Stiffness
Waverley Physiotherapy is expert in treating spinal pain and stiffness affecting the neck and back. You will be assessed to determine the cause of your spinal pain and treated for joint stiffness, muscle tightness and imbalances which may be affecting the ability of your body to move and function optimally.
Posture Correction
Posture correction returns your body to the best optimal positioning you are meant to have. Good posture, well-balanced muscles and flexible joints allow for a healthy and strong body. By improving posture you can reduce the strains that cause some degenerative conditions to occur.
Headaches
Headaches are a common problem troubling many people and are often caused by poor posture involving the upper spine and the jaw. We address the tight joints and muscles that increase the load and tension on pain-sensitive areas and that may be reducing the blood flow to the scalp and brain.
Sports Injuries
Waverley Physiotherapy treats soft tissue and sports injuries to get you back to your sport as quickly and safely as possible. You will also be assessed to determine if there may be issues with your technique or if you may have underlying imbalances which may be contributing to strains and pain.
Dance Injuries and Assessments
Dance injuries are common as dance routines and practise are often strenuous and require a strong and well-balanced body. We treat dance-induced injuries and pain. Waverley Physiotherapy also performs Pre-Pointé Assessments to prepare dancers for the rigours of pointé work.
Workplace Strains and Ergonomic Assessments
Workplace strains can occur when poor habits and work postures prevent the body from performing optimally and allow overloading onto joints and soft tissues not designed for that amount of load. An ergonomic assessment includes teaching you how to work your body more efficiently for less strain and pain.
Orthotics
Waverley Physiotherapy can custom mould soft pre-formed orthotics to correct foot alignment problems when required. Poor foot alignment can not only cause foot pain but also cause other joints to suffer, especially the knees, hips and lower back.
Pre-operative Instruction and Strengthening
Pre-operative instruction and strengthening will assist in the period immediately after your surgery and will often improve the post-operative progress you will make. Enhancing range of movement or strengthening muscles prior to surgery can greatly improve the post-operative achievement.
Post-operative Rehabilitation
Post-operative rehabilitation is necessary after many orthopaedic and spinal operations. Waverley Physiotherapy helps you to maximise the benefits of the surgery. We assist you to restore strength, range of movement and balance to get you functioning optimally as well as helping to enhance the healing process.
Restore Program and Body Correct Program
Our Restore Program and Body Correct Program are intensive corrective programs unique to Waverley Physiotherapy. The Body Correct Program is designed to improve posture and alignment in all ages. The Restore Program reduces stiffness in the not so young to make movement easier.
