The Australian label, Why Mary was established on the Gold Coast and is known for its fusion of artistic fabric choice and casual, easy wear style. Signature designs include minimal silhouettes complimenting bold digital prints giving the brand a creative essence and an edge of unique individuality.
Inspired by the beauty and continuous change in nature Why Mary’s designs often include photography or art as a media for fabric production. This season’s collection features re-worked images of sunrise and sunsets with a serene palette of pinks, mauves, orange and gold, each design capturing a unique moment in time.
Owner and designer, Janette Laver overseas all aspects of the business with creative passion, ensuring consistent quality and attention to detail. Janette studied Fashion Design at the Gold Coast TAFE college and commenced a client based dress making business while raising her daughter, further developing her understanding of fabrics, pattern making and assembly. Her daughter Isabel now assists with design, styling and colour palettes adding a youthful fresh edge. The result is a feminine, earthy and slightly quirky brand that appeals to women who like to make a statement and dress with a difference.

Formally trained in design and manufacturing, Janette overseas all aspects of the business ensuring quality and attention to detail. Her daughter, Isabel has recently joined the Why Mary team giving the brand a fresh, colourful edge.

Shipping & Returns

Why Mary provide FREE SHIPPING throughout Australia. International Shipping will be charged at a flat rate of $25.00

Packages are dispatched upon receipt of payment and shipped via Australia Post with tracking.  If you require Express Post, please contact us to arrange, however additional charges will apply.

Returns and exchanges will be accepted within 10 business days of purchase. Please email us as soon as possible quoting order number and reason for return.

We offer an exchange, credit note or refund on full priced garments if they:

–   are in original purchase condition with tags included

–   have not been worn, washed, altered or damaged

Returns will be processed within 5 business days unless otherwise advised by email.

Please provide a reply paid satchel should you wish to exchange your garment.

Postage costs for returns/exchanges are payable by the customer and will only be reimbursed in the case of faulty or incorrectly supplied orders.

Return shipping must be prepaid with a traceable method to ensure secure delivery. Why Mary will not be responsible for missing returns lost in transit.
