Services

REMEDIAL MASSAGE:

Remedial massage is a style of massage mainly used to massage a local area where discomfort is present. Some examples include:

Neck and shoulder stiffness, common in a lot of office and computer workers who spend hours at a time sitting at a desk
Lower back pain and tight ham-strings that most people experience in their day to day activities
Sciatica (nerve inflammation of the back) which also affects the lower back and the nerve pathway down your leg, causing great discomfort
Sports injuries are part of any activity where there is repetitive movements or contact with players such as throwing a ball continually affects the neck and shoulders, swinging a bat or golf club strains the lower back
Remedial massage is also relaxing and has a calming effect on your nervous system

SWEDISH MASSAGE:

Swedish massage is a gentle technique that relaxes and soothes you. I use a combination of long smooth strokes and circular movements to relax and ease muscle and nerve tension. This is ideal to have if you want to feel the muscular benefits of a massage or you just want to relax after a busy day.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE:

Sometimes it is necessary to use deep firm pressure to release muscle tension that is causing chronic pain and discomfort. This style of massage aims at releasing pressure in the deep layers of muscle. In using this technique I start with gentle movements getting firmer and deeper as the muscles start to lengthen. If you are active in sports where your muscles get tight from a heavy workout then this style is for you. Cyclists and runners are just some examples of athletes that require this massage technique for their legs, weight lifters and footballers who are solid in build also need a strong massage to penetrate deep into their muscles.

SHIATSU:

Shiatsu is a form of body work, where finger and elbow pressure is used to release muscle tightness. It helps to balance the body by working on energy lines called meridians. Shiatsu is a firm technique and I combine it with deep tissue massage for a better result.

SPORTS MASSAGE:

If you are active in any sport or physical activity where you can overwork the muscles or incur an injury then massage can help you to prepare for your sport by releasing muscle strains and elongating the muscle. A sports person training for a sport or event may find that regular massage improves their performance and may reduce injuries that occur from overuse. Massage therapy can help to speedup recovery if an injury does occur.

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY:

Massaging the feet is not only relaxing but also works on nerve endings that can soothe or stimulate body parts. By massaging different pressure points in the feet it is believed that your general health can be improved. Conditions like asthma, indigestion, headaches, lymph cleansing, constipation and many others may be relieved by foot reflexology and can be supportive to other modalities.
