Shaakira and Shafiq Matthews live in South West Sydney, have a young family, and are the dynamic duo behind the children’s hair salons of Ziggetty Snipits.

They first started their operation in Minto (South West Sydney) and it has quickly grown since then along the eastern coast of Australia, with plans of further expansion (under additional franchisees) across the rest of the mainland.

The Matthews’ business model has become quite a success. Each Ziggetty Snipits salon is themed to engage and entertain children, to make for a more fun experience for them.

In conjunction Ziggetty Snipits is the business model of Nitpro. Nitpro provides treatment of head lice and is an essential separation with the Ziggetty Snipits kids hair salon concept.

Nitpro provides discretion and caters for children and adults of head lice infestations.

Each of the Ziggetty Snipits salons cater specifically for their young clientele by providing a homely kid friendly atmosphere with play areas, TVs (with DVDs and Wii), plus books, toys, lay-down wash basins and a lollipop at the end to praise the children’s endurance during the treatment process.

The Ziggetty Snipits / Nitpro reputation is on a fast incline with the Matthews’ being the go-to contacts on media reports relating to head lice infestations and treatments.

“After a horrible experience at another main stream hairdresser where we were growled at about not being able to keep my one year old still, we came in for a haircut with great trepidation. Turns out all you needed was a race car chair, someone who took the time to show him all the tools and tickle his neck with the clippers and we have one spunky 18 month old!
