I’ve been hairdressing for over 25 years in Brisbane, have worked alongside some amazing stylists and gained extensive experience in all areas of hairdressing, I have won various awards and have had photos of my work published. The quality of my hairdressing is reflected in my expertise and knowledge of this industry.

My focus has always been education whether it be advising clients on how to achieve the right look to suit them and their lifestyle or working to develop my staff to be highly qualified in this industry, or further educating myself in the ever changing hair and fashion industry.

When I opened my hair salon Zu Hair in 2002 I set out to create an environment that clients would love coming to… Think of it as your home away from home, a very relaxed but professional atmosphere where you’ll never feel like a number. It’s all about you.

The hair basins in my hair salon adjust to suit all body heights and have reclined bodyline chairs to help you relax; the most comfortable basins you will ever sit in. Furthermore, our professional salon cutting chairs offer great back support.

Eco friendly hair care, every product we use and recommend for our clients is of the highest quality and sourced by me personally, with careful consideration for both the natural environment and the health and wellbeing of our clients.

Zu Hair and Beauty has always supported chemical-free, no testing on animals, natural and organic haircare and we use and recommend chemical-free hair care and professional products where possible.

We also endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint with LED low energy lighting, and by using water-saving shower heads at the hair basins that also include a filter.

We use Affinage and Wella Professional colours.These colours are designed to maintain the hairs condition and create a natural shine .We also understand that your time can be very limited. We have an amazing colour accelerator product that aids in the processing time of your colour, processing your regrowth in as little as 10 minutes. You can have your colour touched up and hair finished, all in your lunch hour.

HIGHLIGHTS/ LOWLIGHTS

Clear fresh blondes, high quality lightener with maximum 8 levels of lift or any other colours you desire. Andrea the owner of Zu hair  and recommends foils to be applied as close to the roots as possible almost like your fresh foils are growing out of your head ensuring your foils look fresher for longer before regrowth touch up is required believe me this makes a huge difference.

COLOUR CORRECTION

Had a bad experience? We can fix it. We start with a consultation and your full hair colour history is discussed. The options we suggest will include a clear explanation of what would be required to achieve your desired result. We don’t compromise the integrity of your hair during this process.

CONDITIONING TREATMENTS

Moisture Treatments – KM hair Masque and Affinage Instant treatment. To nourish thirsty dry hair and designed to strengthen to assist in helping maintain the condition, structure and shine of the hair.

• Hair Masque (Kevin Murphy) – the treatment is applied from roots to ends in sections placed under a soft heat for 10 minutes and finished off with a relaxing stress relieving scalp massage.
• Instant Affinage –for the lady on the go. Just sprinkle into hair and leave in and blow-dry and you have instant shine and moisture.

HAIR RELAXING

For smoothing and straightening we use Brazilian Cacau non-chemical non-permanent hair relaxing keratin treatment that eliminates 90% of frizz. The exclusive formula combines rich natural raw material and incorporates the latest Brazilian keratin technology. Brazilian Cacau reinforces the internal structure and improves the condition of the hair, smoothing the cuticle and eliminating frizz while providing external protection.
