“I got my hair cut and blow dried, the worst experience of any hair service I have received. First, the hair dresser didn’t listen to me, then cut my hair completely wrong and then when I was asked if I liked the hair cut, I was honest and said No. I was abused by the management, screaming and yelling at me in a public place. I was told I was ungrateful, obnoxious and for my age really out of line. When I explained that the hair cut was wrong, they screamed and said that my hair was already like that ( although they haven’t seen me prior to my hair cut). I was completely abused, embarrassed and now have hair cut that is unbelievably horrible, going to have to wear my hair up until it grows! DO NOT VISIT!”

“WORST EXPERIENCE ! do not go here! i asked for natural looking highlights in my brown hair and they used extremely light blonde dye which made my hair streaky and not natural looking at all! highlights usually take 2 hours – here they took 4 hours!! this means more money you have to spend on parking. I was bored as I found the service and the hospitality poor and the quality of what I asked for terrible. They were cheap – next time I’d spend double the money for a decent experience – Surprised this place is still in business. When I pointed out my hair was blonde not brown with lighter highlights they told me it was my fault for asking for highlights! They were so rude – hated every moment of those 4 hours. Once again DO NOT GO HERE”

“Wow, me too – glad to read the other reviews. This is what I wrote to Groupon about this terrible ‘salon’: Hi there, Wow, glad to read I was not imagining this experience. Here’s what I wrote to Groupon about Hipknotic Hair. “I really thought I should tell you about a bad experience that I and a fellow customer, a girl in her 20s, had at a Groupon hairdresser recently. The place was Hypknotics at Broadway, Glebe. I had tried to explain from the start that my grey roots were quite resistant, from past experience and that they would need to keep the colour on longer than usual. This was met with a palpably irritable, angry and dismissive reaction from the male hairdresser. Sure enough, it had to be done over as it was clearly too light, making me overstay my time in the carpark and pay a penalty.I put this to the manager Clare, whom I also had to wait on to appear and she was quite dismissive and rude towards me although had been elsewhere the whole time. Both the male hairdresser and his co-worker both had serious problems with understanding English and talked right over the top of me and the girl in the next chair. In her case, she had asked for layers; he simply cut her hair at 2 different levels and had her in tears. It really did look very odd. She was very upset as she had repeatedly tried to explain what she wanted and left hurriedly as soon as she could. In my case also, I was met with aggro when I asked to check regarding the colour he was to use…I like to look at swatches to be sure, as most customers would. The cut they gave me was almost non-existent also; it looks like nothing had changed. The blow dry was also very limp and unimpressive. A bruising experience; I realised only too late that I had been there before a couple of years ago with the same female hairdresser and a similar unpleasant experience. Most Groupon services I have tried are excellent. This one was appalling and needs reporting for the good of others. Thanks. ….In addition, my hair was pulled and tugged at to painful levels while combing, washing etc etc. A promised cup of tea never materialised, just a glass of water over the lengthy treatment and the male hairdresser scowled at me and spoke rudely to his colleague in my direction in his own language. I am having a cut a week later elsewhere and at extra expense.What an ordeal. Also surprised they are still in business. And again, DO NOT GO THERE! Substandard.”
