Our Team

Dr Alan Underwood
General Practitioner

Dr Alan Underwood is a General Practitioner with a wealth of experience.  He joined Premier Health Partners in August 2014.  Alan graduated from Monash University with honours in 1984.

He is thorough, caring and compassionate.  Although he is adept in all areas of general practice, Alan has a particular interest in men’s health, paediatrics and mental health issues. His previous experience means he is happy to perform small procedures in the clinic.   Alan can also advise on contraception, skin checks, travel vaccines and preventative health issues.   He has been working as a General Practitioner for over 20 years.  He consults in General Practice and also at a clinic at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

His hours are Monday 3.00 pm – 7.00 pm, Tuesday 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm,  Thursday 2.00 pm – 6.00 pm and Friday 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm.

Dr Margaret McDowell
General Practitioner

Dr Margaret McDowell joined the team at Premier Health Partners in February 2014.    Margaret graduated from Melbourne University, and has been working as a General Practitioner for over 40 years.

Her kind, caring and compassionate nature enable her to empathize with her patients the same time as offering good quality health care.  She has a wealth of experience both in General Practice and Community Health.  She is well known in the inner North West as she has spent most of her years in this area.

Margaret has interests in women’s health, contraception, family planning and is qualified to remove and insert Implanon’s.  She also can advise on children’s health, travel vaccines, mental health issues and preventative health matters.  Margaret can help with Chronic Disease Management and implement care plans where necessary.

Her hours are Monday & Wednesday, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm

Dr Hong Lam GP
General Practitioner
Dr Hong Lam graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1990  and is a General Practitioner with over 20 years experience.

Dr Lam is experienced in pediatric general medicine, travel medicine, emergency care, work-health assessments among many other forms of general medicine including:

• Functional Medicine
• Regenerative /Hormonal approach • Anti wrinkle and fillers injections

• Mental health training /Focus Psychological Strategy

Dr Lam is available on Mondays 8.30 am – 12.30 pm, Tuesday 9.00 am – 1 pm,  Wednesday 2.30 pm – 6.30 pm and Friday 9am – 2pm.

 Dr Paul O’Keefe
Osteopath

Osteopath Dr Paul O’Keefe has been practicing as an osteopath for 10 years and has developed a wealth of experience in assessing and treating a variety of aches and pains. Paul’s focus is very much centered around educating his patients so they can develop the necessary skills to be able to address the specific cause of the problem. Paul grew up in Melbourne’s western suburbs in a rather large family of seven kids!

Paul graduated with a double degree in Osteopathy from Victoria University in 2004, which culminated in his two year Masters project being published in the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. He has since worked in Williamstown, Sunbury, Ballarat, North Melbourne and had a year working in Ireland.

Premier Health Partners (PHP) began in 2009 in Errol St as North Melbourne Spinal and Sports Injury Clinic and has since moved into our new offices just around the corner in King St West Melbourne. PHP has been set up to provide professional health services to the local North Melbourne area as well as the surrounding suburbs of Kensington, West Melbourne, Carlton, Flemington, Footscray, the CBD and the inner north western region of Melbourne. As director of Premier Health Partners, Paul has overseen the transition of PHP to a fully multi-disciplinary medical clinic, comprising general practitioners, osteopathy, clinical pilates, dental prosthetics, clinical psychology, dietetics and remedial massage.

Private health insurance rebates are available (HICAPS) to see Dr Paul O’Keefe. Ask your GP if you are eligible for a referral with Chronic Disease Management scheme as part of Medicare (this covers 80% of your fee).

Dr Madeline Cooke
Osteopath

Dr. Madeline Cooke holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Science) and a Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy). Madeline has also completed Intermediate level courses in Acupuncture (Dry Needling).

Madeline developed an interest in Osteopathy in her school years whilst playing sport and learning the essentials that would lead her into the health science field. The workings of the human body amaze Madeline and she believes the holistic approach with Osteopathic treatment and management enables individuals to obtain purity between the mind and body. Not only is Madeline passionate about what she does, she is always considerate to ensure the utmost care is provided to the patient and their specific health needs.

She is very open to treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions, regardless of age, type or mechanism of injury. Having worked for a few years with an amateur AFL club in Melbourne she is also familiar with on-field acute injuries and the impact it can have on individuals.

Madeline enjoys spending time on her own fitness and health as she considers this to be an important aspect to being a worthy practitioner. She also enjoys relaxing at home or outdoors indulging in a good book and is also an avid animal lover.

On meeting Madeline you will see that she enjoys observing people being able to reach their optimum health and well being; including becoming pain free and returning to activities they may not have been able to do.

Eileen Schwindt-Cornejo
Massage Therapist

Eileen attended Southern School of Natural Medicine in 2002 and is a qualified remedial therapist with 11 years of experience working alongside practitioners that specialise in spinal rehabilitation & maintenance. She has extensive knowledge of spinal conditions and common conditions such as sciatica, tendonitis, migraines, lower back pain, wry neck, shoulder related conditions & pregnancy related conditions. She has worked on children as young as 2 years of age to an energetic lady of 88 years of age. Eileen has extensive knowledge & experience in pre & post pregnancy massage therapy.She brings her own experience with pregnancy & postural awareness, enabling her to specialise your treatments. Eileen can do side-lying massage, seated or you can use the Belly Bag which enables you to lay on your stomach without harm to your baby.

Eileen will incorporate many modalities such as trigger point therapy, hot/cold therapy, myofascial release, PNF stretching, shiatsu therapy & reflexology. All of these could be used in your massage treatment.

She is a member of Massage Australia, offers health insurance rebates and is a Workcover approved therapist.

Nalani Jethani
Dietician

Nalani is a qualified Accredited Practising Dietitian; Accredited Nutritionist and member of the Dietitians Association of Australia.  Nalani has gained the accredited ‘Masters of Dietetics’ qualifications through the University of Queensland. Her full credentials include a Bachelor of Science (La Trobe), Graduate Diploma Nutrition (Deakin), Master of Dietetics (University of Queensland). She is experienced in a range of clinical conditions and has a particular interest in chronic disease management via the patient centered team care approach, specialising in chronic disease management, cardiovascular disease, dyslipidaemia,  diabetes, CKD and weight management through diet and lifestyle modification  Her other interests are in ; Gastrointestinal health (including Coeliac Disease, IBS & FODMAP’s malabsorption)
• Nutrition and diet pre and post surgery

• Motivational counselling for both weight loss or weight gain

• Corporate wellness programs

• Preventative health and risk management.

Bilyana Bosevski
Clinical Psychologist

We welcomed Bilyana Bosevski to Premier Health Partners at the start of 2013. Bilyana is a compassionate and caring Clinical Psychologist. Consultations are by appointment only. Medicare and private health rebates are available.
