Kay is the owner and operator of Pure Bliss since April 2013. While working within a vast range of beauty therapy establishments throughout Perth and Osbourne Park she has developed a wealth of knowledge and expertise combined with 20 years worth of industry experience. With a passion for people’s wellbeing and relaxation inspiring all aspects of Pure Bliss particular attention is centred around male and female client care. Her aim is to provide a local haven where people have the opportunity to escape the pressures of day to day life and receive a facial treatment, a bikini or manzillian wax, in which they will receive a thorough and professional service.

Pure Bliss was designed with our clients (both male and female) every need in mind and are committed to providing our clients with excellent service in a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.

Female Waxing

Before you visit us

For clients that have been shaving their hair prior to visiting us, your hair must be at least half to one centimetre for the best possible finish. If it is too short you may notice the second stage of hair will grow back about a week after which normally takes a few sessions to be ‘in sync’ with the other hairs.

What are Brazilians?

Brazilian waxes are the new hairstyles for the new millenium, leaving you with a smoother, cleaner finish down below. No more worrying about going to the beach being scared to wear a bikini. Women aren’t doing this just for men – they are doing it for themselves. Brazilians are the new bikini waxes to get rid of that unwanted hair.

After Care

Most of our clients use Tend Skin before and after their treatment. By using Tend Skin two days prior to your waxing, you will find the waxing process is easier and less painful. If you are about to be waxed consider purchasing a bottle at least a day before, and we can provide information and advice on the use of Tend Skin to prevent ingrown hair.

With my waxing experience I will ensure your treatment will be carried out fast and efficiently with minimum discomfort. Why Should Men Wax?

Swimmers and body builders tend to get all their body hair removed to increase their performance, whilst cyclists who wax can enjoy a quicker healing time if they graze or cut their skin.
Personal preference – some guys hate body hair as much as some women!

Male waxing etiquette

Good hygiene is a must when waxing so please ensure you have bathed or showered prior to arriving for your appointment. If you have previously used other methods of hair removal you will need the hair to be at least half an inch long or 3 – 4 weeks growth.

Male intimate waxing will require you to be naked from the waist down to ensure thorough hair removal. *Please note that from time to time unintentional arousal may occur during which the therapist will remain professional and continue waxing, however any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and the therapist will end the waxing immediately and ask you to leave. Please note that you will still be required to pay the full cost of the treatment booked.

Facials

Men’s skin has the same structure and functions as woman’s skin, even though they are different, and has different characteristics: thicker, more dilated pores, increased natural oil secretion and shaving which helps to eliminate the hidrolipid layer of natural protection. For these reasons, men’s skin needs to be treated with specific cosmetics.

To minimize irritation and possible break outs

Avoid the sun immediately after waxing and wear sun screen; recently waxed areas are prone to hyperpigmentation if exposed to the sun or solarium. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and other heated sources for at least 48 hours.

Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24 hours after waxing.

Do not use exfoliating products (AHAs, scrubs, etc) and loofas for at least 24 hours after waxing as they might further irritate your skin.

Avoid tight clothing after waxing, especially in the waxed areas. Tight clothing may result in irritation and ingrown hairs.

Regular twice to three times per week exfoliation is helpful to remove dead skin so your hairs can get out above the surface of the pores and not become ingrown.

Moisturise with tea tree or lavender lotion as it has an antibacterial effect.

Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and may minimize irritation.
