History: The Director of Tribal Travel, Peter Holiday, after extensive travel Australia wide first became a tour operator in the early 80s, starting up a 3 day 2 night canoe safari in the Kimberly’s in WA. He then worked on Tall ship Golden Plover (famously recognised from movies Blue Lagoon & Dead Calm) in the Whitsundays for a few years & then moved up north to work on another tall ship doing trips from Cairns to Thursday Island. In 1994 Peter started ‘Peter pan Cruises’ in the Whitsundays which was a sailing yacht doing a 5 day 4 night sailing and camping safari. From here he moved to Fiji and set up a backpacker hostel over there. Then in 1997 (he was a bit of a gypsy) moved back to Australia and ran a backpacker hostel in beautiful Byron Bay. It was on the veranda of that hostel that Peter started ‘Peterpans Adventure Travel’ and pioneered the package deal in the backpacker industry. Peterpans took off and branches were opened Australia wide. In 2003 he sold 2/3 of Peterpans and brought in 2 new directors, then in 2006 he sold out completely of Peterpans Adventure Travel as the company was heading in a different direction. Peter then set up Tribal Galleries in Brisbane to work with Indigenous people. And in 2007 took over as director of Tribal Travel. Tribal Travel is a franchise enterprise so all branches are owned by the managers, he helps with the finance of the new branches hence giving opportunity to people that would not usually have it. Tribal Travel would like to have all of their staff members owning a part of the company. All of our staff members absolutely love working at Tribal, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Go Tribal Travel!
