The Team

Dr Amanda Hannaford

Osteopath

MOst B App.Sc (Osteo) BA

Grad Cert App Acup

St Leonards Clinic

Amanda Hannaford achieved her Masters of Osteopathy in 2002, and has been in private practice in the Lane Cove and St Leonards areas for the past 15 years.  She was a university lecturer in the UWS Masters program for 4 years, and has also been a Registration Roard examiner.  In addition she has a graduate diploma in Applied Acupuncture for Musculo-skeletal conditions.

She specialises in treating the root cause of a patients problem, which is not necessarily where the patient is experiencing pain or symptoms.  Finding the source and then correcting the issue may result in resolving the problem entirely, providing great relief and a wonderful improvement in a patients quality of life.

Amanda treats all manner of issues in this way, however she is best known for her ability to treat neck and back pain quickly, with care, and with long lasting relief for her patients.  She also regularly looks after patients with hip, shoulder and elbow pain, and recurrent foot and ankle pain.

She has worked with elite athletes, dancers, young children, the elderly and everyone in between, as the principles of osteopathy remain the same –  aiming to return the body to how it was designed to move in nature.  This provides pain relief, freedom of movement, and a new lease on life.

Amanda is the Clinic Director of Restore Health & Wellness St Leonards and she practices exclusively at the St Leonards clinic.

Vanessa is a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy (BSO), London, UK.  After graduating with distinction, her skills as a clinical practitioner were considered in such high esteem by the BSO that she was invited to lecture there, which she did for 3 years prior to migrating to Australia. She has over 6 year’s clinical experience as an Osteopath, treating a range of patients from babies to adults, using a combination of structural, functional and cranial osteopathic techniques, ultrasound and myofascial needling.

As an ex-professional dancer who discovered the benefits of osteopathy after suffering an injury, Vanessa has a special association with performers and athletes and leading their rehabilitation.

Women’s health is a key area of interest, specifically helping women who wish to fall pregnant. Osteopathic treatment may help to create the optimum environment within the body to maximise a woman’s health for conception.
