Based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, Australia, we select brands with our lifestyle in mind. Curated for ‘that girl’, the one you see walking down the street grabbing the attention of everyone in her wake and effortlessly owning her own style.

We love to support local, and small boutique Australian designers while hunting far and wide to bring Aussie girls the best of the US and beyond.

The Freedom State aims to be at the forefront of your mind whether you are shopping for that perfect, stand out festival outfit or the perfect weekender to take you from beach to bar. Change your look with staked on tribal jewellery, turquoise rings, ‘that’ pair of round sunnies or the wide-brimmed fedora hat… we want to be where you fill your wardrobe, over and over again.

Positioned in one of the Coasts best locations, after your morning coffee at one of the many beautiful cafes, drop past our showroom in the Old Burleigh Arcade. In store you’ll find everything we are about, that perfect tee for your next festival, a printed maxi for Sunday lunch, a white lace shirt to through back for work and that perfect hat for everyday (because the sun doesn’t stop shining here!).

In between swims, pop in and see the team. The girls have a wealth of styling experience and are ready to help in the search for the perfect outfit… whatever the occasion.

The Freedom State is a bohemian clothing and lifestyle store based in Burleigh Heads on the beautiful Gold Coast. The store features a range of boho chic products including kimonos, gypsy dresses, playsuits, knitwear, bags, hats, wallets and other bohemian accessories.

The store aims to provide a collection of locally sourced and international labels including the likes of Free People, Pandeia, Mad Love, Ahoy Trader, Goddess of Babylon, Spell Designs and many more.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING – FREE OVER $100!

REGULAR SHIPPING

We send our items using Australia Post & Courier Service to get the cheapest rates possible for you: $8 shipping for most single item clothing orders under 500g, pay up to $13 for 5kg.
Our shipping includes online tracking.  Delivery times is usually 3-7 business days and may be longer for rural areas.
Please ensure you address your delivery address where somebody will be available to receive your item.   If there is nobody present, a card will be left advising you where to pick up your item from.
If you have not received your garment within 10 business days (2 weeks), please check your tracking online before contacting us for lost items using your tracking I.D.
For orders over $500 we may require photo ID or a copy of a credit card statement for first time customers.

EXPRESS POST

Express Post is available for $10 for orders up to 500g and $14 up to 3kg. This fast postal service is for postage once dispatched from The Freedom State.  If you have an urgent order, please contact us first to ask about current handling times, especially in busy times of the year.
LARGE OR BOXED ITEMS

We strive to ensure your items arrive to you safe and sound.  Larger items such as hats need to be posted in boxes to ensure they retain their shape.  Postage can increase due to the size of boxes required and depending on the State or Territory that you live in.

IMPORTANT
Purchasing from us indicates that you understand and agree to the risk of purchasing online which can be; the risks of orders not arriving by the estimated delivery times, or the unusual circumstances of an order being misplaced during the delivery process.  We will take all steps possible to assist with missing deliveries, however we do not refund or credit for orders if they have been addressed as indicated on your order and are found missing in the delivery process once they have left The Freedom State.  Please contact us if you wish us to include insurance for the cost of your order. This may incur a further cost, but piece of mind that you will be financially reimbursed once an inquiry has been completed with the courier company.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING – FREE OVER $500!

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING INFORMATION

Our postage rates are based on your weight of your items up to 5kg and the destination we are posting to.
Please click on the destination and ‘ESTIMATE SHIPPING AND TAXES’ in the checkout to update the cart and to check your shipping. Shipping can be as low as $9 depending on the destination.
If your delivery exceeds 5kg, we will be in contact with you and advise postage costs before sending and send you an invoice prior to posting.  You can either agree and pay the shipping or choose to cancel your order.
Please ensure there will be somebody present to receive your goods as we can not be held responsible for lost goods if item tracking advises your parcel has been delivered to the correct address.

IMPORTANT! Please check your country’s import taxes before purchasing with us. The Freedom State is not responsible for any further custom taxes for international deliveries- please check with customs in your own country prior to ordering so you can be sure of further costs before receiving your item.
For orders over $500 we may require photo ID and copy of a credit card statement for first time customers.
The Freedom State reserves the right to withdraw items from sale and refund payments made if we suspect any fraudulent activities or we are feeling unsure the items may not arrive safely to certain countries..

PACK AND TRACK INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
To keep our postage prices competitive, our International Postage rates up to 2kg include lower costs and online tracking along the way for selected destinations by Australia Post with their Pack and Track service. You can see Pack and Track International destinations HERE.

REGISTERED POST INTERNATIONAL

All other Countries, for orders up to 2kg we send REGISTERED POST.  Items are scanned at departure and delivery points, and will require a signature on delivery.
We will advise you of your Registered Post number, which you can use if you wish to trace your item by contacting your post office.
This service does not include tracking along the way, but your Registered Post number will allow you to trace your item via your Countries postal service.
If you want tracking along the way, we advise you to choose Express Courier International.

EXPRESS COURIER INTERNATIONAL

A service for when you want it fast or tracking along the way.  Estimated delivery between 2-4 business days.
We will send you a tracking number to track your order along the way.
We can include ‘Insurance’ in all Express Courier International shipping costs.  This provides ‘Extra Cover’ for loss or damage.  We encourage our International Customers to choose this option.

REFUND POLICY:

SIZED ITEMS (Clothing | Footwear | Rings)
We will refund your item if we receive it within 14 days (domestic orders). These are processed weekly.
Unfortunately we do not exchange items, but you can re-purchase your new size via the online store if it is available, while you wait for your refund.
International Customers, we have a relaxed policy for returns which is 21 days.
Items received after this time will be eligible for a credit only.
All purchases on sale items are final.  We do not accept returns on sale items or items bought with a discount code.
We do not refund shipping costs, however you may like to take advantage of Paypal’s shipping offer above.
You must return your item, unworn with tags still in place to be eligible for a full refund for your item.  Please ensure to return your item in same packaging as sent to you, for example, if your item was boxed to ensure protection, it must be returned boxed.  Any items returned showing lack of care in choice of packaging will not be accepted.  The Freedom State cannot be held responsible for items not received, so you may wish to opt for ‘registered post or post with tracking’ with Australia Post to ensure delivery.

Please include information of your order: NAME/ORDER NUMBER so we can process the information promptly. Once received, the item will undergo a quality check to ensure the product has not been used or worn.  Please note: Unfortunately we cannot accept items showing any signs of extended wear (including extreme perfume/deodorant scents) and will be returned directly to you.

CREDIT POLICY:
ALL ITEMS EXCLUDED FROM ABOVE.
Unfortunately we do not refund for items that do not need to be tried on.
We will email you a credit voucher code to use within 6 months in the online store.
Credit vouchers code are entered in at the ‘promo code’ section of the shopping cart.
All purchases on sale items are final.  We do not accept returns on sale items.
We do not credit shipping costs. however you may like to take advantage of Paypal’s shipping offer above.

PLEASE NOTE: Although we endeavour to finalise returns as soon as possible, the manufacturer holds the right to inspect garments for faults at all times. We may need to return your garment to the manufacturer for further inspection, and we appreciate your understanding with this.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Each return is dated the day we receive it, and returns are processed weekly. You will receive a confirmation email advising we have processed your refund.  If you have not received a confirmation email, please check your junk folder in your email account before contacting us.  We will endeavour to assist you as much as we can, however it is up to you to track your item first to confirm status is ‘delivered’.
